Some of the tomatoes are still flowering...

I mentioned previously that we went to my father-in-law's place last week and gave him a surprise birthday lunch. It wasn't something fancy or elaborate, just a simple set of healthy food which we know he can easily chew (he's got a few teeth left so we had to consider that when bringing him food, lol!)

The day was really bright and gorgeous so I suggested to the husband that we eat outside the house and enjoy some cool air. He then brought out the large umbrella and installed it between the citrus and guava tree where a small table was. Papa thanked the Heavens for his life and prayed for more healthy years ahead. Then we had the picnic. It was a time well-spent. We chatted about various things as we ate.

After some time, I excused myself to have a look around and that was when I photographed these plants along the front walls of his house. The wild tomatoes growing and climbing robustly on their poles fascinated me most. A lot of their fruits are already ripe. It was in fact tempting to just pick, wipe and eat them there, lol! Others still green and some branches flowering. This type of tomato is truly generous.

There were also chili pepper and spring onions, albeit a few of their stalks have already wilted.

I went back to the umbrella shade soon after I had taken photos and that was when I noticed the bumblebee along with a honey bee buzzing around the citrus tree, hopping from one flower to another. Glad I was able to take a photo of each of them before they flew farther away from where I can see them.

It's just nice that Papa maintains his greens although he may not consume most of them, at least they make his home a little more alive and thriving.

It's a fresh red tomato. In the past I also liked gardening growing tomatoes and chilies behind the house. At that time I was still living in my hometown. I miss that atmosphere

Is that a cherry tomatoes? It looks delicious but honestly I haven't tried eating one.
That reminds me to buy some on the weekend.

They are the wild variety sis and oo, they are matamis hehe. The regular cherry tomatoes are a lot sweeter than these. Hope you get to taste them soon :)

I love the look of that cherry tomato bush, sis. How I would love to have one like that, but my attempts with tomato bushes have not been very successful in the past, lol.

It's nice you could spend some time with your father-in-law.
