Feeling famished on New Year's eve, they walked their way to a cosy place along the narrow streets in the town center of Sagada after leaving their vehicles at the grounds of the chapel. Restaurants were mostly closed and the few ones which remained open during the day were full with hungry travelers. They had to find a place to get their fill or they will be on the road with growling tummies.

Lucky for them that Salt & Pepper was there for the rescue so they went in without expecting much. Two of 7 tables were already occupied. There were a few more tables by the balcony but it was cold so they opted to stay inside to keep themselves warm at least.

They didn't take time looking at the menu and they had theirs ready when the attendant came to get their orders. Then the waiting game began...

But oops, here she comes!

"Ma'am, are you willing to wait for no less than 45 minutes for 6 of your orders?" the waitress inquired smiling. Six of them wanted to try a dish called "Inutom," some chicken cooked in various ways (grilled, spicy etc). Oh my, that's too long of a wait, they mumbled as they searched on the menu for replacements.

Aah, they got no other options but the Pork Sisig with Etag. It's a dish comprised of chopped pork and fried then served on a hot sizzling plate, topped with an egg and others plus their famous preserved salted meat called Etag.

The place was filled with hungry visitors in a matter of minutes after they went in. They were just glad they came earlier or else they would have to find another place. But then, they will still have to wait 'coz their meal will take time to be prepared.

Alas! Their food were served after about 40-50 minutes. It isn't a fast food chain after all! They did enjoy their meal and spent a little more time in the place drinking some cola before they left.

Overall Verdict?

• Food was okay. Salad was tasty!

• Ambiance was good. Interesting Decors!

• Service was cool. Thank you :)

• Place was a bit nice and cozy. The downside, they don't have a parking space. The street where it is located is narrow. If you park along the road, you're basically obstructing one lane of the street so only one car can pass at a time. There is a parking place all the way up to the chapel and it's probably a 10-minute walk down to where the food place is located.

Will they go to that diner again?

Maybe... on a lunch or breakfast to try other dishes. It's a whirlwind adventure for them on New Year's day but it had been wonderful to have a taste of an ordinary delicacy with a bit of a local touch.
