Hive Keeps Growing & Turns 3 Today. Happy Birthday!❤️

It's amazing how time passes by and now, Hive is celebrating its 3rd year from its inception on its own blockchain. So before anything else, let me just say,

Happy 3rd Birthday Hive!

According to data obtained from rubencress post, here are some stats about Hive:

  • Welcomed over 2.4 million accounts who have been voted on or curated over 285 million times.
  • Distributed over $46 million in rewards with over $121M worth of HIVE locked up (staked) inside the network.
  • Over 2 billion irreversible transactions and these have incurred zero gas fees.

Hive ecosystem is undoubtedly scaling and growing.

And if you have been here for a while, you may have already read how it is changing many lives around the world. The water borehole projects in Ghana, financial assistance to Ukraine, Turkey and other challenged countries and many more.

With that, aren't we all grateful and proud to be a part of this amazing blockchain?

On a personal note, I feel so fortunate to have met Hive. It has become part of my day-to-day life and it has changed the way I spend my time. It's my cyber home, my only main social media. Being able to meet and connect with people around the world, becoming part of the diversed Hive community is already an incredible experience.

Add to that the continuing developments on this blockchain. There are real, dedicated people who are working and building useful things, games and applications for us to use, enjoy and keep this ecosystem thriving, growing and developing.

Speaking of which, there's a Hive Power Bday initiative by theycallmedan and others in celebration to Hive's 3rd Birthday. It is perhaps one way to reinforce our commitment. And although I'm staking HIVE on a daily basis, I'm taking this special chance to add a bit more and powered up 1/3 of my liquid HIVE.

Wow..happy birthday, hive..Thanks @ifarmgirl for such a wonderful exposition...Honestly speaking, I'm beginning to love hive as the days go by. Though I'm still learning a lot about this platform as someone that's new.. So I'm learning from you, hehe.. Yeah, concerning the powering up, I'm yet to do that..I guess I'm leaning in that direction now. But it seems like every first day of the month is the best time to power up..Correct me if I'm wrong, though.. For me I want to power up when I clock 100 hp..lolz

Yesterday's power up was special and was a good chance to win any of the large HP delegations from the Hive whales. Every first of the month is called HPUD (Hive Power Up Day) and powering up at least 1 HIVE a day for the whole month is called HPUM (Hive Power Up Month). I have been doing both since last year as a way to grow my account consistently.

For me I want to power up when I clock 100 hp..lolz

It depends on what you want and how fast you wish your account to grow. I see your wallet has HBD. What are you planning to use it for? If you don't want to buy HIVE using it, you can send it to HBD Savings and earn interest on it :)

Hmm, so nice. I know I have tons of things to learn from you on this platform, and I'm so glad t have you around. Sorry this is coming late, but I have a question that's been bothering me, and it's based on the idea surrounding powering up. I perceive that the main purpose for powering up is to increase your hive's power (correct me if I'm wrong). In a situation where you receive most of your rewards in HP and HBD, do you still need to power up? If yes, how can one go about it?
