The detailing...

I think this is a sort of a commemorative silver-plated coin or token. I noticed it on my father-in-law's key chain and couldn't keep myself from taking photos of it. I'm now wishing I could read Chinese so I would know what it says. Although I could ask from one of my Mandarin friends. Just that our power's out since early morning. I woke up at 8 am and learnt we have a scheduled power outage for the whole day. Darn...

Oh well, that means less online time for I find it difficult to do things on mobile. So I will take it as a rare chance and perhaps go for a walk into the woods and search for my soul hehe😁 or maybe raid the garden 'coz it absolutely needs some tender love and care, or what about continue organizing stuff in the house? Or should I just sleep? LOL! I went to bed late (past midnight) but not enough reason to be going back to snooze on a broad daylight. Would really kick my own arse if I would end up choosing to stay idle for the day when I spent most of yesterday being quite unproductive.

Inviting idleness or laziness means welcoming the devil (Mr. Procrastination) back which doesn't sound nor feel right. It's tough enough to have won the battle against him so nope, not a chance for him to even poke his head around.😁

Anyway, back to the coin. The front of it features one I'm not really sure of if it's a buddha or a monk. Funny I can't even differentiate the two. But I believe it's a buddha because of the rays around his head. And three words (whatever they meant) at the bottom. I was quite impressed with the clear detailing on the image - the face, the garment, the jewelry.

At the back of the coin are embossed Chinese words and a shape of square at the center (or is it a Chinese character?) May update the info when I'd be able to get the writings read and translated. The coin is quite big (about 3 inches) and a lightweight. As to how the coin got into my in-laws' possession, I didn't really ask. I just assumed they bought it at the flea market or somewhere else. Or maybe it had been given to them. It kinda reminded me of the years which my father-in-law spent on prospecting and treasure hunting which unfortunately didn't yield him anything.

This is it for now and Happy Tuesday❤
