Last month, we visited my bestfriend, one who I consider a real sister from another mother. We haven't seen each other for over a year, the last time being her daughter's 18th birthday celebration. And because we were passing by their area when we attended the wake on the 28th, we thought it was a good time to say hello to them and catch up.

We spent the whole afternoon chit-chatting over the snacks we brought and Legacy Coffee from their pantry. It's a local product which according to its packaging label contains some herbs (ie: Mangosteen, Moringa, Turmeric, Banaba etcetera.) It also claims to be 100% natural. She's more on black coffee (Barako) too but figured we try something new for a change so we opened the new pack. As it is our first time, the husband poured half of the sachet contents on his cup and half on mine. It tasted good but it's one that I wouldn't take on a regular basis for it's quite harsh to my stomach. Might be the Turmeric, not sure though.

We were amused with her four year-old daughter who speaks fluent English with an excellent accent. Asked my friend how she taught the little darling, she said she never really taught her. The lil girl's teacher was Peppa Pig which she loved watching ever since she was a toddler so she basically learned to speak the language on her own. I was wowed. Most children these days are fast-learners and tech-savvy too!

The challenge she shared, is that her daughter's playmates couldn't understand her. And at nursery school, she's having a hard time keeping up with the so-called "Mother Tongue," a subject that they teach in the local dialect (which honestly until now, I couldn't wrap up my head why they even have such).

Anyway, our conversations were mostly about family, friends, life, her children and everything else. There was so much to talk about but it was getting dark, signaling that it was time for us to head home. Also a good timing 'coz the heavy downpour just stopped.

After saying hello to her mom (whom I used to call 'Mom' back in the day) and chatting for a wee while, we bade goodbye and as we were leaving their compound, I noticed the sky colors and took the first 3 photographs. The Farmboy was speeding 'coz he thinks the view would be better along the highway. The succeeding 4 shots were taken up there.

It was a day well-spent which filled the soul with much bliss, perfectly ending with nature's show of its magnificence.

Happy Maundy Thursday!

Ang supportive ng hubby mo sis sa pag capture ng photos hehe. About the mother tongue. I find it useless, especially since English is the universal language used in any aspects. Dapat mas focus sla sa major subjects . besides, hndi magagamit ang dialect kapag magtrabaho na, lol

Medyo hehe 😁

And yes, I also feel the same. It's like backward learning. It's frustrating to most parents too kasi hindi naman daw yung mga normal vocabs ang ginagamit din sa mother tongue.

Most of the kids watch YouTube videos at their early age and sometimes they learn odd words too. Once I met a boy in first standard he use word Holy sh*t but I'm sure he doesn’t even know the meaning of it lol.

I'm glad that your best friend's four years daughter become fluent in English at her early age as she start learning when she was just a toddler. If they learn positive things and good words that must appreciated. I hope she doesn’t learn odd words that usually people use. The golden lines in the sky looks cool, thanks for the lovely blog as always! Best wishes for you and your sister from another mother.

Hugs with love 🫶🤗

Yes, that's the bad thing about the internet too because kids learn those things. Parents need to guide them or at least have the adult contents blocked so young kids can't access them.

And yes, the lil girl is smart. And very polite too so I believe she's well taught and she may probably pick up some odd words along the way but might be corrected by her wonderful mom :)

Thank you lots too, Daisy for your kind remarks. Have a wonderful day, !LADY ❤️

Your friends little girl is so smart to be able to learn a language all on her own. You are correct, kids are very adept. Your pictures are very nice and the coffee looked wonderfully tasty.

She is and that's very true, Joe. It's fascinating :) Kids are quick to grasp things and learn them easily.

Thank you lots and hope you're having a great day.
