When the Sun Hits West

"When your world moves too fast and you lose yourself in the chaos, introduce yourself to each color of the sunset."

- Christy Ann Martine

For those who had been reading me, it is no secret that I rave about everything nature, more so of the sunrise and sunsets. I don't know but seeing the sky gets colored in different hues especially on evenings make me feel some kind of nostalgia and bliss. I guess that's another way to describe being grateful?

The following shots were the sunsets of Friday and Saturday by the way.

The husband has been home quarantined after coming from his father's place 3 days ago. He caught the flu bug and we've just been staying home. With the sun's heat being too hot on the day time, we get out to the yard mostly around late afternoon and spend a bit of time there until early evening.

On Friday evening, just when we were to have dinner, we caught a glimpse of marvelous colors through our kitchen door. We had to postpone eating to witness how the sun bids goodbye and give way to the night.

And below were the sights and colors that mesmerized us from the front yard around 6:19 yesterday evening.

Our phone cameras were once again filled with these 'coz we just can't get enough. A fun thing is that while watching these displays, we were also crafting some stories out of the figures we see.

On the photo below, the husband said he saw someone walking. Can you spot it? This by the way, was the sky's final display before we shut the door and officially welcomed the night.

TRIVIA: Do you know what gives the sun and the sky a golden glow?

Apparently, it happens because of a phenomenon called "scattering."

When the Sun is low on the horizon, small particles and water droplets in the atmosphere force sunlight to change direction. As a result, shorter wavelength colors like blue and violet get scattered out, leaving only the longer wavelength colors like yellow, orange, and red available to our eyes.

On the other hand, when the Sun is high in the sky, blue light is scattered more by oxygen and nitrogen molecules than all other colors because it travels as shorter, smaller waves. And that is what makes the sky look blue. (Source)

These are some new things learnt today.

These had been mother nature's magical display of its magnificence which we have enjoyed most recently from our yard.

Thank you and I wish everyone an amazing weekend!

Smile... laugh often... love more... be happy and grateful always!

It is never boring to look at the clouds and observe them from any angle. They are truly a certified wonder of this world.

I love the fun facts. It's a new knowledge for me.

Beautiful sunsets and captures @ifarmgirl. There's something about watching a sunset that just fills me with happiness. Maybe it's the way the colors spread out in the sky, or how the world seems to slow down for a moment. Whatever the reason, I love sunsets 🙂

Thank you lots :)

And yes, everything seems to move a bit slower when we watch sunsets and there's a different feeling too, deep within.

What a phenomenal set of sunset photos! I love the purples and pinks. I do hope that your husband is ok and that the quarantine goes quickly. In the meantime being able to take these kinds of photos is a wonderful way of being grateful for the day.

Thank you lots Emma. True that, watching the sky change in colors is amazing.

The husband is getting better, unfortunately, I caught the bug from him too. Nothing serious though, minor flu and a sore throat with a bit of coughing. I usually get well very quickly.

Oh I'm so sorry you also caught it but it's good that you are on the mend. Just take it easy and let your body work through it.

I'm very keen to see more photos like those, really brightened my day. I'm waiting for a nice weather day (been pretty drab here recently) so that I can get some landscape shots. Hopefully it will be soon.

Have a great day, rest up and feel better soon 🙂

Those are some amazing photos. Thanks for sharing them! I just love the colors and how significantly different they are from each other! I can see the person walking! It's amazing the things you can pick out when you spend time looking at something that's so commonplace as a sunset. Beautiful photos.
