WPL - Women's Premier League - The new beginning in women's cricket.

Hello and welcome to all the readers

Women cricket has come a long way in past 5 years.

The women's game has gained alot of followers all over the world.
The amount of women's cricket played has also increased 10 fold.

Not only test matches and one day cricket, T20 and 100 has gained more popularity.

Last year BCCI had proposed women's indian premier league (WPL) similar to the men's indian Premier league (IPL).

This year its going to happen. 5 teams will be chosen but the bids were accepted for 11 different cities

Most of the owners of the IPL submitted the bid along with other business groups

Today, BCCI announced the owners of the 5 teams.

The owners of men's IPL teams Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore as well as the Adani Group and Capri Global won the bids to own the five women's IPL teams.

Good to see as long as the standards can be maintained as there are too few decent women cricketers around. I wish you added a bit more to the post as you are an active member on Hive and could earn far more.

Good to see. It will convince people to think this as a more serious career. For lack of opportunities parents don't allow their children to be a crickter. And the base has to be start from the childhood. So, parents supports are very important.
