Itam market is best known for its big size and it is located in the heart of the city of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, the south south part of Nigeria. It popularity attract many buyers and sellers who travelled both within and outside because it is big enough to accumulate thousands of traders. Itam market is a local market where all kinds of food stuffs are being sold, even farm produce are been sold in this market.

Though it can be sold everyday but there is a single day in every week it's sold, so other days only few buyers and sellers are visited the market but on that specific day in the week, thousands of traders will trooped into market. So I ran out of food stuff in my store so I decided to visited the market and get some stuff for my store.

And fortunate enough, today happens to be that specified day in the week where many people trooped in to buy and sell

It's difficult to go around the market of its side and since it is in the heart of the city, it's not segmented into sections like what we normally have in the rural areas but there's arrangement on ground by the state government who promised to modernize the market into an international commodity market. I can really say that it was a nice time moving around in my little capacity to see how valuable markets are in our society. It is true that rain can stop people from going to farm but can't stop them going to market. Today, I do two things, buying and snapping pictures in the market. I wasn't opportune to go to others segments where things than food stuffs were sold.

This market is about the biggest in Uyo. People come from far and near to transact business here. It sells virtually every stuff.
Thank you sir for beaming your light on it. The write up is rich and educating.

Welcome back to #MarketFriday! What a day you had, having to fill up your store! Is it very profitable when you have to put food in your store that way or is that the normal way that you get your stock? I wasn't sure if you have a vendor. For example, if you buy peppers or tomatoes, how much do you buy them for and how much do you sell them for?

The Market is great - but next time, perhaps a few prices of goods. (not tons, just to get an idea) We have no idea how good a price you got. (to compare) Did you bargain for a better price? Isn't it unbelievable? The prices have gone up so much, that it makes it unaffordable to go shopping. I am not sure where it is going to end, but, I have changed how I shop, for sure. Have you had to change how you shop, or does it change weekly? Thank you for participating in #MarketFriday! I appreciate the time and effort that goes into putting a post together for the challenge. It is with great pleasure that I read through and realize how much we have all tried to include things in our world that may be unique to the area. I have learned so much about the different cultures of the world, especially the small things that go unnoticed except by those looking for them. Life is interesting, wherever you are, whatever you are doing. I hope the week has found you healthy and happy, as we all look to prosper in our way of life.
