Stop Bleeding (Money)

avatar

So, I think the cut is pretty deep. I am referring to my wallet. I still remember the good time when I can open my wallet and there will a pink 2000 rupee note (bill) stealing a quick glance and flirting with me. (She would say "Come let's have a good time…"). The situation has been anything but that lately. I haven’t had a date with the 2000 rupee note in quite some time. It's mostly the sad looking soiled 10 rupee note. One of the worst moments in my recent time is when my Phonepe app blared the declined sound with the error message 51-Insufficient Funds while getting groceries.

As I mentioned in my previous post I haven’t updated my financial planner in a while and most likely that is causing this malfunction in real life. As per my knowledge, I haven’t bought anything big that may put a dent in my finances. No Debts also. Very small EMIs. Money seems to be accounted for on first look. But the question remains, where exactly does the money go? Being the brilliant person I am I initiated the investigation into my account. And downloaded the statement for the last 6Months. I couldn’t believe what I saw. Error from Bank stating that they with 2 business days to process my request for the statement (FacePalm) and it is standard practice.

I am not really a finance guy, If anything I am more like the Gollum from the LOTR series. Away trying to run after shiny things. And If I continue the same way, I may end up falling into a crack of doom or debt. And call me paranoid but I can smell the debts around the corner. I better get myself from this alleyway. This means I must change something in me or around me to have a better chance tomorrow. What needs to be changed only the bank statement will tell. But Till then I must reflect deeply on myself and understand why am I the way I am. And It is not like I want things to go back to the way they were. Because that is what got me into this situation.

So my action plan in simple words, I need to identify and monitor my expenses (Bleeding Wounds), make changes in habits (Applying pressure), corrections to make up for the losses (applying bandaid), and avoid getting cut at the same place (Not to repeat). And hopefully, I will be able to make up for all the money, peace of mind, and time that I lost. The only good news in all this mess is HIVE has more experts on the topic than any business platform. I just have to find people who know money and perform a copying jutsu on their action which aligns with my goals… I am not sure If I am nervous about my statements. Or excited about learning new financial management skills. Either way, I am changing and who knows I can be the next Fin guru…

That’s all for today, I am inuke and I am on a journey to redefine myself. New year new Me, RIght?. Only time will tell. Meanwhile, If you are looking to be part of a supportive growing community, IndiaUnited is the place for you. And Beawesome is another such community where you can drop in and rant about your problem and be ok. Ok wait, That description is correct by it sounds sad, BeAwesome is a fun community to be part of.
Special thanks to the IU and Beawesome community for motivating me and keep me in this writing business, Although I am not earning anything yet. I am enjoying post stuff. You guys rock. (You know who you are :))

Spend less than you earn. Easier said done ( and I know all about it ).

I should get back to 'spending' more time with @finansaurus and thus saving more (time) ;^)

Easier said done

That is 100% true. It is getting difficult to manage the expenses with inflation. But I am determined to learn the art of money.
BTW what @finansaurus has to say about the new place?

BTW what @finansaurus has to say about the new place?

That it's way too easy to spend more in a town ( even a small one like this ).

Time to get back to saving more, once again.

Learning the art of money is more important than ever. Great goal!

Finansaurus is a little worried. It's too easy to spend money, even in a small city like this and money is energy. It's probably time to start budgetting...

Surely the solution is to spend less than you earn but, in order for this to be achievable, you need to make a budget.

Accurate down to the penny, of course.

I was busy with the office the entire week and could barely make time for my own adventure in finance.
About the budget, since this is the first time I am doing this and I have no references.
I know how to manage resources in the office but when it comes to my personal life I am a mess. :-(

BTW how much time do you spend planning the budget? And what does yours look like?

Eh eh with your own money it seems increasingly difficult.

I go like this with my entries:
50% for necessities (food, bills, fuel)
20% dedicated to investments.
20% dedicated to savings.
10% to the fun.

Often the fun progresses and then I dedicate 30% to investments.

It doesn't take long at the beginning of the month I do all the accounts, divide the money and go!
