A Ritzy Wedding and Reception

It was an amazing wedding ceremony and reception yesterday. It was just my wife and I with our youngest one.

image.png

It was like something out of a movie: the ceremony was in an auditorium similar to constitution hall, the reception was at a golf course designed like a castle.

image.png

Arches, tall ceilings, stained glass windows - almost like the set of a movie!

image.png

It was an interesting setting to speak with interesting people, many who were from the west side of the state visiting for the event.

image.png

Moses was very active, loving all the attention from daddy and mommy and charming everyone with his smile.

image.png

The desert spread was unreal, I have never seen so many sweets in a single room before.

image.png

Moses enjoyed eating some fruit, especially watermelon.

Rich Stuff

Events like these are surprising because we do not typically enjoy high-end luxuries like these. There's a part inside everyone was desires "rich stuff", but for me it's a bit of a treat and novelty. We practice contentment, in riches or in poverty. That doesn't mean we choose poverty, but we also cannot covet the riches and wealth of others. Will we be blessed with wealth like this someday? That's in the hands of the Most High. Will we be brought to low estate? That's in the hands of the Most High.

Give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the Lord?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God. Proverbs 30:8-9

Thankfully these wealthy families are God-fearing, Messiah believing Christians, who have not forgotten the Most High. But I believe the danger is there for anyone.

I ask myself: Could our family endure riches and not forget the giver of all good things? I ask myself: Could our family become destitute and still maintain righteousness?

These are the sorts of questions I ask myself when experiencing vast decadence and material pleasure.

What do you think? If you are a God-fearer, would vast wealth increase faith or challenge faith?

5 years this has been happening to me, it started here, around people that are still here. Homeland security has done nothing at all, they are not here to protect us. Dont we pay them to stop shit like this? The NSA, CIA, FBI, Police and our Government has done nothing. Just like they did with the Havana Syndrome, nothing. Patriot Act my ass. The American government is completely incompetent. The NSA should be taken over by the military and contained Immediately for investigation. I bet we can get to the sources of V2K and RNM then. https://peakd.com/gangstalking/@acousticpulses/electronic-terrorism-and-gaslighting--if-you-downvote-this-post-you-are-part-of-the-problem

Thanks for this. I think being godly is the only way to deal with riches and life in general. At least that is where all the blessings are.
It looks like it was an awesome wedding. I hope you had a blast.

Yes, there are a few Godly people recorded in history who managed their wealth in righteousness, but many others who have forsaken God. The wedding was amazing and yes we did enjoy it.

Hello my friend! 😊

It looks like a great time was had by all and everyone looked amazing in their wedding duds. 😊

I don't think it's the money that corrupts, its all the people that want to help you spend/handle it that are the problem, but that's just my personal opinion of course. 😊

I've never been to a wedding with that many desserts, it's quite a selection to choose from and quite the sugar rush for anyone that tried to try them all, bet they were all very tasty though because they look scrumptious in the picture. 😊

God bless you and your wonderful family. Have an awesome day my fabulous friend! 😊

Hello again! It was a lovely wedding. I would share more photos, but I think the bride and groom would like some privacy.

I don't think it's the money that corrupts, its all the people that want to help you spend/handle it that are the problem

Yes, wealth attracts leeches who will assure you good stewardship, but actually introduce corrupting ideas and cause problems.

Aww, you all look so nice! And I bet little Moses feels like he won the sweets lottery lol! That was quite a spread!

Also loved the reminder to not covet riches at the end. As I age I actually want less things, wealth comes with a special kind of burden and can be just as cumbersome as poverty as I have learned from watching my dear wealthy friends traverse being loaded. Then again, I really would like to be squared away enough to call someone to fix the broken things on occasion.😉

Hope you all are having a lovely evening!

Moses enjoyed eating fruit mostly, he just discovered watermellon for the first time!

wealth comes with a special kind of burden

I would imagine it would have it's own burden. It's a myth that money solves all problems, but it seems as if it is well used money could be useful in solving (some) problems. But there are always other problems that wealth simply cannot solve. We carry our good deeds with us to the grave, but our "empire" is all left behind.

"If you are a God-fearer, would vast wealth increase faith or challenge faith?"

I think our Lord answers this question ...

Beyond that, while there are notable exceptions, history shows man does not handle wealth and prosperity well. I believe that is one of the primary reasons we have the Old Testament record ...

How about us? Have we "evolved?" Are we better than that? Are we different? I know my answers to my own questions ...

I think our Lord answers this question ...

Yes, I think He does. There's two stories I think of. I think about the parable of the seeds and ground, when thorns and thistles choke out the good fruit which comes from the WORD of God.

The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful.

I also think about Abraham and Lot, both very wealthy and righteous people. Abraham separated himself from Lot because he knew Lot desired more luxury and wealth than he needed and that Lot coveted the good land in the plain of the Jordan.

Now separate yourself from me. If you go to the left, I will go to the right; if you go to the right, I will go to the left." Lot looked around and saw that the whole plain of the Jordan toward Zoar was well watered, like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt. Genesis 13:9-10

The one who stayed away from the deceitful luxury and wealth of Sodom was blessed, yet the other who was seduced by the deceitful luxury and wealth of Sodom was barely saved !ALIVE and lost everything.

Will we be blessed with wealth like this someday? That's in the hands of the Most High.

We will be all rich in the Heaven. In love and in peace.

What do you think? If you are a God-fearer, would vast wealth increase faith or challenge faith?

Nor vast wealth, neither deep poverty cannot challenge the faith of a true believer. But when I see and experience huge sufferings and huge pain, I often ask "where is God?". If God is so loving, then God certainly would stop these things. Some people say there is a greater good in all of this.

But what/where is the greater good in anyone's suffering, including the animals? The whole nature is built on suffering. Animals eating each other alive. Often surplus killing. People also kill each other. And since millions of years. Many living being suffer from indescribable suffering. What good is in all of this.

If anything, then the things behind these questions can challenge people's faith. And for a reason.

What kind of "loving God" watch his/her creations suffer for millions of years? If we think about this, then anyone could think that God abandoned us.

Even Jesus Christ asked "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" in his intensified sufferings.

There are some questions, which only God can answer.

Have a nice day. All the best. Greetings and much love from Hungary.

We will be all rich in the Heaven. In love and in peace.

My true desire is to be rich in love and rich in peace. Also my wealth is stored in Heaven, in my family and in my precious time with my family. When I was in sales training, the number one thing people desired wasn't to make more money, but to spend LESS TIME making money so they can spend more time with family!

I agree that only God can answer these questions, why does it seem as if God has abandoned us? I give my thoughts and understanding in the post below: Why a Loving God could watch his creation suffer.

Fantastic post and something I have certainly many times contemplated. I have seen wealth come easy to people and it has changed them. Materialism and decadence are very rampant in our current times. This could be responsible for the current mass delusion of our time and the acceptance in the drive to world communism. There was only 1 Bishop in the US who spoke about this in the last 2 years if I remember.

When I was younger I was interested in mostly material things and money. As I have gotten older, I have realised the important things are what money cannot buy. However we still need material things and to consider money, but moderation seems the best policy.

Can you believe in God and not fear him?

It seems as if inherited (easy) wealth has one effect, while difficult wealth has another. There is a mass delusion towards world communism, as if that would somehow cause us to be less materialistic - I disagree, it is completely materialistic. People will betray one another for the "collective", death and destruction eliminate the "useless eaters", it is the most destructive and evil forms of society history has ever recorded. Tyrany of the collective, conform or die.

Can you believe in God and not fear him?

Even the demons believe there is one God and they tremble!
