Hola amigos de Hive, como lo prometí en el cover de Korn anterior, hoy les traigo “Faget” un tema del álbum homónimo de la banda, lanzado en 1994. Este tema es todo un clásico, y por supuesto forma parte de los nuevos temas a implementar en la banda de tributo a Korn a la que pertenezco.

Hi Hive friends, as promised in the previous Korn cover, today I bring you "Faget" a song from the band's eponymous album, released in 1994. This song is a classic, and of course is part of the new songs to be implemented in the Korn tribute band I belong to.

Algo que llama la atención de cada tema de Korn sobre todo de sus primeros discos es la temática de abuso y bullying, tal parece que para Jonathan Davis la banda era una gran vía de desahogo sobre todos sus problemas y frustraciones.

Something that stands out in every Korn song, especially in their first albums, is the theme of abuse and bullying, it seems that for Jonathan Davis the band was a great outlet for all his problems and frustrations.

Según Wikipedia, este tema en específico habla de cómo en la secundaria Davis era víctima de bullying por parte de los deportistas por el hecho de que a Davis le gustaba el arte, y seguía una tendencia musical New Wave, llegando a maquillar con delineador sus ojos, por esto en los pasillos le llamaban “Faget” o “Maricón” en español.

According to Wikipedia, this specific song talks about how in high school Davis was a victim of bullying by the jocks for the fact that Davis liked art, and followed a New Wave musical trend, even using eyeliner on his eyes, which is why in the hallways he was called "Faget".

Este tema siempre me ha gustado mucho por su sonido sumamente agresivo, y aunque nunca tuve el disco, siempre conseguí la forma de oírlo. Con respecto a la ejecución del cover se toca afinado en LA, y hay que tener presentes pequeñas variaciones a lo largo de la canción, aunque parezcan similares el sonido es distinto.

I have always liked this song for its extremely aggressive sound, and although I never had the album, I always managed to hear it. Regarding the performance of the cover, it is played tuned in A, and you have to keep in mind small variations throughout the song, although they seem similar, the sound is different.

Este fin de semana es el próximo ensayo de la banda tributo, por lo tanto tengo trabajo por hacer aprendiéndome otros 3 temas, de los cuales estaré compartiendo algún con ustedes próximamente. Espero sigan atentos para oír los covers de guitarra de esta grandiosa banda.
