Greetings beautiful people 🤗 I hope you are well, today I show you my last artwork about "La Divina Pastora". The beginning of the veneration of the Divina Pastora takes place in 1736. When the parish priest of Santa Rosa commissioned one of the most famous sculptors of the time to make a statue of the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception. However, due to a mistake, the image of the Divine Shepherdess arrived in the town. After this mistake, the parish priest decided to return the image, but no matter how hard they tried to move it, no one could lift the box where the image was lying. The population interpreted this strange fact as a sign that the virgin wanted to stay in that place. After this, in 1812 during the strong earthquake, the temple where she was located was destroyed, however, her image remained intact, this event strengthened the belief of the faithful that the Virgin wanted to stay in that place to take care of them.

At the end of 1855, the inhabitants of Carabobo, Caracas, and Aragua in Venezuela were subdued by cholera that hit the country hard, taking many lives in its path. The image of La Divina Pastora was taken from Santa Rosa to Barquisimeto. On the way to the Parish Church of the Immaculate Conception, a miracle occurred. A dying lady got up in extraordinary health. Then she ran to thank the Virgin for the miracle. Inside the church, the priest raised his arms to the cross and the image saying: "Holy Virgin Divine Shepherdess, for the good and salvation of this town, I offer you my life and may I be the last victim of cholera". Having said this, Father Yépez died after 4 months and with his departure so did the plague.

As a result of these events. A tradition began that would continue to this day. Every January 14th in Barquisimeto (Venezuela). The largest religious congregation worldwide takes place, every year millions of people, with the greatest devotion and love, accompany the Divine Shepherdess in her procession. In 2006 (the 160th birthday of the first visit of the Virgin to Barquisimeto). A team of people sent by Monsignor Tulio Manuel Chirivella went on a pilgrimage to the city of Seville, Spain. Once there they held a meeting with the Primitive Brotherhood of the Divine Shepherdess of Santa Maria, and with the Friars Minor of the Capuchin Convent of Seville. The Venezuelans took a life-size replica of the Virgin as an offering to the convent so that they would be her custodians. Thus recalling the alliance that exists between the two nations. In 2014, some Venezuelans living in Seville, asked permission from the Capuchin friars, to take this replica of the Virgin in procession on January 14 and thus start the tradition in Spain. From this point on, an association called Hermandad de la Divina Pastora de Barquisimeto in Seville was founded, which would be in charge of organizing this event. Currently, it is the 165th visit of the Divina Pastora, but due to sanitary problems, her image will not leave the Santa Rosa Sanctuary.

My mom reminded me that it was soon the day of the Divina Pastora, so I set to work to make it my style and this was the result of this incredible process. I used Pointer markers and Norma colors. I hope you liked the process and the result. I wish you a beautiful day, I would be very grateful, if you will support my content by giving me a coffee ☕️ 😊

Lo he disfrutado mucho, gracias.
