# My Hive Goals - Some Goals Might Need More Time Than What I Anticipated.

We're almost halfway through March, leaving us with just under three weeks (for all purposes we can call it three weeks...lol) before we see the end of the first quarter of this year.

As I mentioned last week, to me, that means that I should have a good indication by now about where I'm heading for this year and where I need to make adjustments.

You know...sometimes we overestimate and sometimes we underestimate...especially where I'm at in my crypto journey...lol, but that's how we learn.

You do calculations similar to thinking you will do a 1000 KM journey in 8 hours...as if you're driving a Porsche or something...

But somewhere along the way, you realize that there is no way that you're going to make it in that time. You realize that you're still just driving a little Toyota Yaris or something and it will take you the better part of 16 hours to reach your destination.

You better contact the people waiting for you at the other end and notify them...telling them to relax...

You're coming...it's not that you're not going to make it... You'll get there, just not as fast as you thought you would...lol.

Well, in some of my goals, I think I need to face the fact that that might be the reality in some of my goals. I'm not becoming negative or doubtful...I will make it, but with some of them, it might just take me a bit longer.

Another thing that I believe is important in any goalsetting (actually two things) is:

  • Your goals are not set in stone. They are your goals. When you realize you were unrealistic and you are not going to make it within a certain time frame, make adjustments. Set the bar a bit lower within that time frame or otherwise give yourself more time. A goal is there to give you direction...a plan to work with. It's not supposed to give you a nervous breakdown...
  • Secondly, we need to stretch ourselves a bit when we set our goals. And because of that, you don't have to feel like a failure when you don't achieve your goal 100% within a given time. I personally believe if I can achieve at least 75% to 80% of what I set out to do, I will still consider myself to be successful in that goal.
Achieving 75% of your goal will leave you with way more of whatever it is you are working towards as before you started out with 0%.

Especially in the beginning stages, I believe you will find yourself overachieving in some areas and battling in others... It's all part of the learning curve.

Let's have a look at #myhivegoals and I'll show what I mean.

But before we do that, let me make one thing clear...this is merely my opinion and you are welcome to disagree with me if you like.

1200 Hive Power.

This goal can already be an example of what I'm saying.

01 - HP Graph.png

I am not saying that I already think I'm not going to make it to a balance of 1200 HP by December 2022. I am still aiming for that and it remains my goal or target for this year.

But my current monthly target is to grow my HP balance by 56 HP every month. Currently, the average per month from January 2022 until now, is just over 35 HP per month. And February was considerably higher than the other two months so far, which was due to tokens I have sold on Hive Engine and I have used that to power up to Hive Power. Let's see what will happen with almost 3 weeks left in this month.

But, if I can at least maintain an average of 32 to 35 HP per month, I should be able to take my balance up to about 900 HP by the end of the year...which is 75% of 1200 HP.

Not first prize...I would obviously prefer the 1200 HP, and I am still looking at ways to increase my average to get it to the 56 mark (or as close as possible). But hey...900 HP is still way better than the 535 HP I started with in January. This is where the stretch comes in... I will still be aiming for 1200 HP within this year.

02 - HP Goal.png

My current balance is 642.099 HP, which is almost 60 HP short of my monthly target for March 2022.

To reach my main HP goal for 2022...?

1200 - 642.099 = 557.901!

500 HBD.

So far, this goal is stretching me a bit, but it is still reasonably on target.

03 - HBD Goal.png

I am currently at 26.67% of my monthly target of 30HBD per month and we are approaching the halfway mark of the month...

But, it's still early days, I'm excited about this goal and I'll keep pushing it.

My current balance is 247.995 HBD.

500 - 247.995 = 252.005 to go!

10'000 CTP Staked.

Here is another example. In this case, I might have (unknowingly) thought a little Yaris can keep up with a Porsche...lol.

Well not really...it's more like someone who has never driven that distance yet and totally underestimated the time it will take (in a small car)...

04 - CTP Goal.png

I do start having doubts if I will make it to the 10'000 tokens staked balance within this year. But hey, that's not demotivating me. I will still achieve my 10'000 CTP tokens staked.

It might end up taking me longer and I might need 1 or 2 more years, but I will get there. In the meantime, I can set a more realistic target for this year, but this is by no means making me give up on this goal.

Currently, my balance is 5830.775 CTP tokens staked.

10'000 - 5830.775 = 4169.225 to go!

2000 POB Staked.

This and the next goal are also good examples of what I'm talking about, but to the other "extreme" if you want to call it that.

05 - POB Goal.png

This goal is going better than I have expected. It is doing so well that I am ahead of schedule to the extent that I am already working towards my target for April 2022.

My current balance is 1040 POB goals staked.

I'll share my approach to this and the next goal when I show you the next goal now...my ALIVE Staked goal.

2000 - 1040 = 960 to go!

2000 Alive Staked.

This goal really exceeds all my expectations.

06 - Alive Goal.png

I am less than 7 tokens away from reaching my target for May 2022.

My approach to both this, and the POB goal, is not just to move my target higher again.

To me, the balance of 2000 tokens I a great milestone, and instead of just setting higher targets all the time, I decided to see how fast I can achieve the 2000 level in both these goals.

Once the 2000 levels have been achieved, I would then double the target, setting my next goals at the 4000 levels.

That means that I can use these "2000-level" goals to get a feel for what is realistic and what time frame would be needed. Then I can set goals to reach the 4000 tokens level, which means that I might set goals to gain a full 2000 additional tokens in both goals, but in a shorter period of time, stretching myself, yet remaining in touch with reality, having more knowledge about what is achievable and what not.

My current balance is 1063.37 Alive Tokens staked.

2000 - 1063.37 = 936.63 to go!

Other Projects and Targets.

My stats for comments have come down and I need to keep an eye on that. It is still above the levels where I feel comfortable though.

I am currently trying to learn more about Hive Engine and how to utilize it best to my advantage.

And that's it for #myhivegoals.

Thank you for reading my post. I do appreciate it!

Are your goals on track for this year? Are you still actively working on your goals?

Tell us about it in the comment section below. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Wow nice to read how you assess your goals and track your progress. You may still hit your target, you never know. I've been more detailed when I was newer to the blockchain, but life has a way of getting in the way, so I'm not as focused on tracking as I used to be. I do try to be present daily. Much success to you.

Happy weekend!

For your hp goal... Instead you might want to change that, at least mentally to genuine engagement and post goals? Those are the things that grow an account after all :)
