Loss within my reality - Short Story [Esp-Eng]
One cool spring morning, when life seemed to have more color, Claudia said goodbye to her parents in order to start a new stage in her life. She had so many plans and goals that she was already eager to achieve.
Claudia had just finished school when she was surprised with a full scholarship, due to her good grades, she managed to get it to study the career she had dreamed of studying all her life, video game design, who during her childhood were her best friends.
Claudia was labeled in her school as "weird" being a victim of bullying every day of her life throughout her childhood and part of adolescence, her loving parents did everything they could, but it was so complicated for them to deal with it, they only focused on giving her the love she needed, and seeing that she loved to play, they gave her a new console with hundreds of video games every time they could.
Una fresca mañana de primavera, en la que la vida parecía tener más color, Claudia se despidió de sus padres con el fin de comenzar una nueva etapa en su vida. La emoción no cabía dentro de sí, tenía tantos planes y metas que ya estaba ansiosa por alcanzar.
Claudia acababa de terminar la escuela cuando fue sorprendida con una beca completa, debido a sus buenas calificaciones, logró obtenerla para estudiar la carrera que toda su vida había soñado estudiar, diseño de videojuegos, quienes durante su infancia fueron sus mejores amigos.
Claudia era catalogada en su escuela como "rara" siendo víctima de bullying cada día de su vida durante toda su infancia y parte de la adolescencia, sus amorosos padres hicieron cuanto pudieron, pero era tan complicado para ellos lidiar con eso, que solo se centraron en darle el amor que le hiciera falta, y al ver que amaba jugar, le regalaban cada que podían una nueva consola con cientos de videojuegos.
When that scholarship was given to Claudia she felt immensely happy, she would arrive to a place where, just like her, there would be people who had taken refuge in video games, she planned to finally make friends, to be able to talk freely about what she loved to do so much, without being labeled again as "weird".
When she arrived at the university, everything was much better than she had imagined, it seemed like another planet and on it, she didn't have to shy away from being who she really was, within minutes of arriving, she had already gotten people to talk to about her favorite video games, graphics and everything else, and she couldn't feel happier.
Months passed and the university had become her new home, she enjoyed every class to the fullest and felt very happy, surrounded by people who understood her and also loved her for being who she was, in one of her classes I was invited to put into practice everything I had learned in the previous months, I had to create a new video game.
Cuando aquella beca le fue proporcionada a Claudia se sintió inmensamente feliz, llegaría a un lugar en el que, al igual que ella, habría gente que se había refugiado en los videojuegos, planeaba finalmente hacer amigos, poder hablar libremente de aquello que tanto amaba hacer, sin ser tachada nuevamente como "rara".
Al llegar a la universidad, todo era mucho mejor de lo que lo había imaginado, parecía otro planeta y en él, no tenía que cohibirse de ser quien era realmente, a los pocos minutos de haber llegado, ya había conseguido gente con la que hablar sobre sus videojuegos favoritos, gráficas y todo lo demás, y no podía sentirse más feliz.
Pasaron los meses y la universidad se había convertido en su nuevo hogar, disfrutaba cada clase al máximo y se sentía muy feliz, rodeada de personas que la entendían y que además la querían por ser quien era, en una de sus clases la invitaron a poner en práctica todo lo que había aprendido en los meses anteriores, debía crear un nuevo videojuego.
Claudia thought it would be a piece of cake, but when the time came to do it, her mind went blank and she could not think of what to do that video game, this evaluation depended on more than 50% of the grade of one of the most important subjects of her career, she had four months to finish that project, this seemed to be enough time for everyone, but Claudia saw how time was running, and she still did not know what to do.
The stress began to take over her body, she felt very anxious, and that precious place became a small torment, she was sure that she would fail, that she would fail and lose her scholarship and with it the opportunity to fulfill her dreams, she had already lost two months of time, and that stress began to affect her body, she almost did not eat and felt very weak.
As expected, Claudia collapsed, her body could not stand any more stress and she fainted in one of her classes, losing consciousness, when she woke up she was in the infirmary, accompanied by an envelope of serum that dripped into her veins, after a while she felt much better and finally had an idea to create a video game.
Claudia pensó que sería pan comido, pero cuando llegó el momento de hacerlo, su mente quedó en blanco y no se le ocurría sobre qué hacer aquel videojuego, de esta evaluación dependía más del 50% de la nota de una de las materias más importantes de su carrera, tenía cuatro meses para terminar aquel proyecto, esto parecía ser tiempo suficiente para todos, pero Claudia veía como el tiempo corría, y ella seguía sin saber qué hacer.
El estrés comenzó apoderarse de su cuerpo, se sentía muy ansiosa, y aquel precioso lugar se convirtió en un pequeño tormento, estaba segura de que fracasaría, que reprobaría y perdería su beca y con ella la oportunidad de cumplir sus sueños, al darse cuenta ya había perdido dos meses; el tiempo y aquel estrés comenzó a afectar su cuerpo, casi no comía y se sentía muy débil.
Cómo era de esperarse, Claudia colapsó, su cuerpo no pudo soportar más estrés y cayó desmayada en una de sus clases, perdiendo el conocimiento, al despertar se hallaba en enfermería, acompañada por un sobre de suero que gota a gota entraba por sus venas, después de un rato se sintió mucho mejor y tuvo finalmente una idea para crear un videojuego.
In this video game she expressed what she had felt during those months when she was filled with anxiety, the main character must flee from his enemy, who by catching him slowly consumes him until he steals all his lives, in order to escape from him, he must find the right path and attract other characters such as tranquility and happiness, who stay by his side as long as anxiety is not near.
When she presented the idea to her teacher, he was delighted, and full of emotion and joy, Claudia began her work, she worked until the last minute, but happily managed to finish in time to present it, the day she was going to present it, the whole place looked different, dark and empty, from a distance she began to see a shadow that she could not detail very well, at first she thought it was her teacher, but then she realized that it was a horrible creature.
She ran away from it as much as she could, until she was out of breath and had to stop to breathe, at this moment she saw the friendly faces of two of her friends, who is hearing everything that was happening tried to calm her down and take her to a safe place, when they arrived to that place, Claudia felt a little calmer.
En este videojuego expresaba lo que había sentido durante esos meses al llenarse de ansiedad, el personaje principal debe huir de su enemigo, quién al atraparlo lo consume lentamente hasta robarle todas sus vidas, para poder huir de él, debe hallar el camino correcto y atraer a otros personajes tales como, tranquilidad y dicha, quiénes se mantienen a su lado siempre y cuando la ansiedad no se encuentre cerca.
Al plantearle la idea a su profesor, este quedó encantado, y llena de emoción y alegría, Claudia comenzó su trabajo, trabajo hasta el último minuto, pero felizmente logro terminar a tiempo para presentarlo. El día en que iba a presentarlo, todo lugar se veía distinto, oscuro y vacío, a la distancia comenzó a ver sombra qué no lograba detallar muy bien, al principio pensó que se trataba de su profesor, pero luego se dio cuenta de que se trataba de una criatura horrible.
Huyó de ella cuánto pudo, hasta que quedó sin aliento y tuvo que detenerse para respirar, en este momento vio los rostros amigables de dos de sus amigos, quiénes al escuchar todo lo que estaba pasando intentaron calmarla y llevarla a un sitio seguro, cuando llegaron a ese sitio, Claudia se sintió un poco más tranquila.
Every time Claudia tried to get out of that place where her friends had taken her, she found that horrible creature and full of fear running back to that place, she didn't know what was happening, there were almost no people outside and she was locked up without being able to run away, she was afraid of what could happen to her.
She spent several days locked up in that place, but she began to feel hungry, so in a moment of desperation she ran out of that place, she ran as fast as she could only to realize that she did not recognize anything of the place where she was, she did not know where to go nor did she know if it was a trap, and without knowing what to do she began to cry.
Her tears made that big monster get her more easily, apparently he was attracted by the desperation of his prey, how could Claudia got out of there running away, to find herself hidden again in that place, there must be a way out of there, several days ago studying all the movements and weaknesses of the monster and also trying to decipher the way out.
Cada vez que Claudia intentaba salir de Aquel lugar al que sus amigos le habían llevado, se conseguía con aquella criatura horrible y llena de mucho temor corrida de nuevo hacia aquel lugar, no sabía que estaba pasando, casi no había gente afuera y se encontraba encerrada sin poder huir, tenía miedo de lo que podía pasarle.
Paso varios días encerrada en aquel lugar, pero comenzó a sentir hambre, así qué en un momento de desesperación salió corriendo de aquel lugar, corrió lo más rápido que pudo solo para darse cuenta de que no reconocía nada del lugar en el que estaba, no sabías ni dónde ir, tampoco sabía si se trataba de una trampa, y sin saber que hacer Comenzó a llorar.
Sus lágrimas hicieron que aquel gran monstruo la consiguiera más fácilmente, al parecer se sentía atraído por la desesperación de su presa, cómo pudo Claudia salió de ahí huyendo, para hallarse de nuevo oculta en aquel lugar, debía haber una forma de salir de ahí, paso varios días estudiando todos los movimientos y debilidades del monstruo y también tratando de descifrar la salida.
After spending several months locked up in that place, doing the impossible to survive, she realized that the dreadful place where she had been locked up for so long, was that video game she had created months ago, this would be an advantage, because there was exactly what she had to do to escape.
She looked for her two friends who were indispensable to reach the goal, she needed tranquility and joy to completely get away from anxiety, she knew exactly which was the way, but everything seemed confusing from the inside; however, she did not give up, she overcame all obstacles and when she was finally about to win, her friends disappeared and behind her anxiety.
This clung to her, stealing all their lives, one after the other, and Claudia could only have as a last thought, that what she loved so much, had become the reason for her death. Suddenly she opened her eyes and in front of her she saw a nurse, who was giving her an IV, she was so dehydrated and weak that she had been unconscious on the floor for a long time.
Después de pasar varios meses encerrada en aquel lugar, haciendo lo imposible por sobrevivir, se dio cuenta de que ese lugar espantoso en el que había estado encerrado durante tanto tiempo, era aquel videojuego que había creado meses atrás, esto sería una ventaja, pues sabía exactamente lo que debía hacer para escapar.
Busco a sus dos amigos que eran indispensables para lograr llegar a la meta, necesitaba tranquilidad y dicha para alejarse por completo de la ansiedad, sabía exactamente cuál era el camino, pero todo parecía confuso desde dentro; sin embargo, no se rindió, supero todos los obstáculos pero cuando por fin estuvo a punto de ganar, desaparecieron sus amigos y solo estaba detrás de ella la ansiedad.
Esta se aferró a ella robando todas sus vidas, una tras otras, y Claudia, solo pudo tener como último pensamiento, que aquello que tanto amaba, se había convertido en el motivo de su muerte. De pronto abrió los ojos y frente a ella vio una enfermera, quién le estaba colocando una vía para administrar suero, estaba tan deshidratada y débil qué llevaba un montón de tiempo inconsciente en el suelo.
Apparently due to her weakness, her mind full of stress fabricated all that, she still had a video game pending, there was still the possibility of losing the scholarship and she could still lose all hope of achieving her dreams, full of pain and discomfort, she decided not to think about it anymore, because she still could not get over having lost her life just a few minutes ago.
After being treated, Claudia was given a few days off so she could relax a little and also the deadline for the delivery of the video game was extended, this helped Claudia to control her stress and better manage her responsibilities and pending, thanks to this she was able to finish her video game and get the highest score in history.
Sometimes we load ourselves with a lot of things, which in the long run affect us too much, normally we do not give importance to this, until we reach a point we should not reach, where we explode and our body can no longer cope, hence the importance of always being balanced, protecting our mind at all costs, preventing it from getting sick.
Al parecer producto de su debilidad, su mente llena de estrés fabricó todo aquello, aún tenía un videojuego pendiente, aún existía la posibilidad de perder la beca y aún podía perder toda la esperanza de lograr alcanzar sus sueños, llena de dolor y malestar, decidió no pensar más en ello, pues aún no lograba superar haber perdido la vida hacía solo unos minutos.
Luego de ser atendida, se le dio a Claudia algunos días libres para que pudiera relajarse un poco y además se alargó el plazo de entrega del videojuego, esto ayudó a Claudia a poder controlar su estrés y a manejar mejor sus responsabilidades y pendientes, gracias a ello pudo terminar su videojuego y obtener la puntuación más alta de toda la historia.
A veces nos cargamos de muchas cosas, que a la larga nos afectan demasiado, normalmente no le damos importancia a esto, hasta que llegamos a un punto al que no deberíamos llegar, en el que explotamos y nuestro cuerpo ya no puede más, sé ahí la importancia de ser equilibrados siempre, protegiendo nuestra mente a toda costa, evitando que esta enferme.
El estrés y la ansiedad matan. la responsabilidad y el trabajo duro son importantes pero la responsabilidad de cuidar de nosotros mismos de nuestra salud emocional y física son mas importantes. Es lo que desprendo de tu historia @jemima1996
Gracias hermano por leerme, si así como lo desprendes puede tomarse, realmente a veces nos dejamos consumir por la responsabilidad y al final tal vez no era tan necesario.
Lo cierto es que jamás podríamos poner nuestra salud por encima de algo ya que al final simplemente nos irá mal, así como dices el estrés y la ansiedad matan.
El estrés y la ansiedad son dos enemigos mortales, en el caso de Claudia supo salir victoriosa, pero no siempre resulta así. Por ello, debemos autogestionar nuestras emociones para que no nos afecten. Saludos, amiga.
Así mismo es, no podemos arriesgar siempre a que lograremos la victoria, ya que sería apostar nuestra vida, además que debemos cuidar nuestra salud emocional ya que es más probable que de tanto aguantar un día simplemente nos acabe sin saberlo.
Aveces nos enfocamos mucho en lo que queremos, pero no tanto en como hacer para lograr obtener eso que anhelamos y cuando por fin tenemos la oportunidad de obtenerlo, la ansiedad nos genera mucho estrés, ya que no tuvimos una preparación para tener ese resultado y no sabemos como mantenerlo 🙃
Me sentí un poco identificado con esta historia, ya que pase por un periodo de ansiedad parecido, porque buscaba obtener algo que ya tenía solo que no me daba cuenta que todo estaba en mí 😌
