Naira on the free fall: Inflation it's all time high

Hello Everyone,

What a week it has been in my country with the national currency crashing terribly against the dollar. When I thought it was so bad enough in the previous week, this week happens to be much worse as it crashes further to 710/$ as against 627/$ from the previous week.

The sudden fall has been a matter of concern for it's citizens with it's adverse and damaging effect on the cost of living with food prices, fuel prices and others on the continually increase due to the inflationary effect.

The Central Bank has been even more clueless with them blaming the fall of the Naira on crypto users and those purchasing dollar with Naira. The government has so been terrible taking the exchange rate for Naira to the dollar from 170 to 710 all in less than eight years.

The implication of the fall spells more doom for it's citizens especially those earning around the minimum wage 30k Naira which was worth about 77$ two years ago. That same amount now worth about 42$. How pathetic considering the cost of living then and now.

The remark from the CBN governor a week ago shows it's all about the blame game from the government instead of reviving the national currency has they even went has far as threatening to arrest those buying dollars

With the election fast approaching, the dollar is set to crash much further. Times like this brings the importance of earning one way or the other in Dollars or finding another source of income to stay ahead of the rising inflation.

All thanks to Hive and the LeoFinance platform for the opportunity to earn in the HBD, Hive and Leo. It has been of really great help for me and others affected having to grow their earnings and savings despite the poor situation of the country.

Thanks for Reading

It's really making me sad to hear this knowing that my country currency is also at free fall - PKR losing it's value against dollar everyday, reaches 241pkr in open market

Foreign reserves at it's lowest and hope this just end and don't get worse.
