I did not know what love was before the year 2021, do not misunderstand me, I mean giving love and feeling it, since I did not understand the nature of love and much less understood how it influences and transforms my life daily. Not only I did not understand what I lived daily, but I also did not even understand how my relationship with love and the rest of the world was, and that is why I make this reflection: What is the essence of love?

In essence, love is quite elusive for many, some have a life in their search, spend their entire existence seeking to learn what it is and how to define it, I have read scientific definitions where the essence is groups of hormones and chemical reactions in the brain, philosophical where depending on the school of thought that supports it is divided between sexual desire and emotional dependence and like these, I have read ethical definitions based on psychology or other fields, however all I have seen in print are human, and there we have domesticated animals being part of our families and social circles.

Love transcends us, it is not exclusive to the human species, and neither is it limited by any school of thought, no matter where we look at it it is always present, and even if they say that X person is not capable of feeling love because of some brain condition or something similar, time and again I have seen exceptions to this in the world.

For me love is the face of my baby, is the laughter of my fiancée, are the looks of complicity when we are about to eat a chocolate bar between the two of us, the whispers at night when she tells me when I hate with all romanticism - It's your turn to take care of Sofia my fatty. And watch as I get up at 3 am to walk the baby in the living room of the house we currently live in.

Love is all the little moments of both happiness and sadness that occur in my life in the company of others, are all the moments where we show appreciation, are every instant where we are grateful for our life, in my eyes love is gratitude for existing, is to enjoy existence and above all live it.

Every stage, every instant, we must live the love we feel, live the opportunities that we give ourselves and are given to us, if you are going to spend life thinking about what was not, what already happened, what you do not control and you would like it to be, you will spend a life without love, without life, empty and gray.

For me there is currently no greater essence of love than that which I knew when I embraced my daughter for the first time, that moment when I looked at Abigail just out of the ward and in her eyes I could feel the news before seeing Sofia, -We are parents and she is a beautiful girl, She said her look.

Her essence is perhaps all of the above, perhaps it is chemical reactions in our brains, pheromones, and hormone games, perhaps it is a mixture of sexual attraction and emotional dependence, perhaps it is a hundred other things I don't know or the words of some poet. Little of it matters, for me, the essence of love is my family, it is those friends who surround me and have been in all kinds of times, it is the Hive community always present in comments or conversations and live sabotage at healing events, love is sincere interaction, it is flattering complicity, it is all that surrounds us and all that we are.

There is little in me that is not currently devoted to love, for me it is part of my life now more than ever, it is what I met in my body in a way that I never lived in another medium, and it is one of my biggest goals in my life today, to be the best I can in giving and receiving love.

I wanted to share this reflection with you because, in one way or another they are part of my day-to-day life, they are the comments, the jokes, and connections of all those I appreciate the most in the community of this wonderful social network, Hive.

Yo no sabia lo que era el amor antes del año 2021, no me mal interpreten, me refiero a dar amor y el sentirlo, puesto no entendía la naturaleza del amor y mucho menos entendía como el mismo influye y transforma mi vida a diario. No solo no entendía aquello que vivía a diario, ni si quiera entendía como era mi relación con el amor y el resto del mundo y por ello hago esta reflexión ¿Cuál es la esencia del amor?

En esencia el amor es bastante esquiva para muchos, hay quienes tienen una vida en su búsqueda, pasan toda su existencia buscando aprender que es y como definirle, he leído definiciones científicas donde la esencia son grupos de hormonas y reacciones químicas en el cerebro, filosóficas donde dependiendo de la escuela de pensamiento que le respalde se divide entre deseo sexual y dependencia emocional y al igual que estas he leído definiciones éticas con base en la psicología u otros campos, sin embargo todas las que he visto en letra son humanas y allí tenemos a los animales domesticados siendo partes de nuestras familias y circulos sociales.

El amor nos trasciende, no es exclusivo de la especie humana y tampoco es limito por escuela de pensamiento alguna, no importa por donde le miremos siempre es presente y aunque digan que X persona no es capaz de sentir amor por alguna condición cerebral o cosa parecida, una y otra vez he visto excepciones a ello en el mundo.

Para mi el amor es el rostro de mi bebe, es las risas de mi prometida, son las miradas de complicidad cuando estamos por comer una barra de chocolate entre los dos, los susurros en la noche cuando me dice al odio con todo romanticismo -Te toca cuidar de Sofía mi gordito. Y observa como me levanto a las 3am a pasear la bebe en la sala de la casa que habitamos actualmente.

El amor son todos los pequeños momentos tanto de felicidad como tristeza que ocurren en mi vida en compañía de otros, son todos los momentos donde nos mostramos aprecio, son todo instante donde agradecemos por nuestra vida, en mis ojos el amor es gratitud por existir, es disfrutar la existencia y sobre todo vivirla.

Cada etapa, cada instante, debemos vivir el amor que sentimos, vivir las oportunidades que nos damos y nos son otorgadas, si vas a pasar una vida pensando en aquello que no fue, aquello que ya paso, aquello que no controlas y quisieras que fuere, pasaras una vida sin amor, sin vida, vacía y gris.

Para mi actualmente no existe mayor esencia del amor que aquello que conocí cuando abrace a mi hija por primera vez, aquel momento donde mire a Abigail recién salida del pabellón y en su mirada pude sentir la noticia antes de ver a Sofía, -Somos padres y es una niña hermosa, Decía su mirada.

Su esencia es quizás todas las anteriores, quizás sea reacciones químicas en nuestros cerebros, feromonas y juegos de hormonas, quizás sea una mezcla de atracción sexual y dependencia emocional, quizás sea cien cosas mas que desconozco o las palabras de algún poeta. Poco de ello importa, para mi la esencia del amor son mi familia, son aquellos amigos que me rodean y han estado en toda clase de tiempos, son la comunidad de Hive siempre presente en comentarios o conversaciones y saboteos en vivo en los eventos de curación, el amor es interacción sincera, es complicidad lisonjera, es todo lo que nos rodea y todo lo que somos.

Poco existe en mi que no este entregado al amor actualmente, para mi es parte de mi vida ahora mas que nunca, es aquello que conocí en mi cuerpo de una manera que nunca viví en otro medio y es uno de mis mayores objetivos en mi vida actual, ser lo mejor que pueda en dar y recibir amor.
