Cafe Georg: Just a Random Lunch Date

It was the day before typhoon Odette hits Cebu wherein my husband and I treated ourselves to a delicious lunch. We had it at Café Georg because we loved their salad and we wanted to eat “healthy” at that time. From the outside, it looks really fancy and expensive that I can remember during my first dine-in experience with my friends I was hesitant because I really thought the food will cost me a lot. Surprisingly, Café Georg is not overly expensive and the food is a bang for the buck.

As soon as you get inside you will see that the place is small with only a few tables to dine in so make sure to have your reservation especially if you’re in a group.

We’re lucky because right after we secured our table, more customers started arriving. They have al fresco dining too, but I haven’t tried yet because we always prefer indoor just so I can take more photos of the interior of the place.

They also have a mini function room where it can accommodate 20-30 persons at most and this is great if you’re having small, intimate events with friends and families or corporate meetings.

As we were a bit hungry that time, we ordered their best-selling salad as a starter which is the Mango Tahini and we had it split into two servings. I love the sweetness and how savory and dense the tahini dressing is I can literally finish the entire bowl of it. I highly recommend this salad, it’s super satisfying and it tastes amazing.

Since I’m on a low-carb diet, I ordered their Pork Chops with Garlic Herb Butter but since it comes with rice, I just didn’t eat it, and for my husband, he ordered Korean-style beef brisket.

The Pork Chops with Garlic Herb Butter is always my order may it be in this restaurant or their other branch (Oh Georg) because I loved how perfectly the grilled pork chop looked. It’s always a must-try for this combination and I feel that you could never go wrong with this.

My husband enjoyed his Korean-style beef brisket because it’s really flavorsome. He was actually tempted to eat my rice but I told him that he’s only allowed one rice because he needed to diet.

We didn’t order drinks and desserts because I find our orders very heavy for just the two of us.

Overall, my husband and I agreed we had a good experience and we were stuffed and satisfied with our lunch. Our orders came just in time and the staff who took our orders was very attentive to all my requests. Definitely, we will be back here to try out some of their desserts because at that time, they only have limited choices of cakes plus I’m on a low-carb diet.

Café Georg is located on the ground floor of the MLD Building in Banilad, Cebu City, and opens from 10:30 AM until 10:00 PM every day but it still depends on IATF guidelines. Also, they have another branch in Ayala Center Cebu if you prefer to dine inside the mall.
