Exode: My Planet NFT and Tips to get your own

(Edited)

Currently there is a incentive to get some extra Exode NFTs for posting Exode content and I have chosen to talk about my planet NFT. Perhaps my information will be helpful towards anyone trying to get their actual planet NFT. If you want to look at the incentive by @khazrakh at this link.

Exode

Exode is a space colonization game on the HIVE blockchain and it is currently in its alpha stage. Right now there isn't many things to do and can be split into evacuation and scanning for a planet right now. However I do think the planet NFTs will be worth quite a bit in the future when things do take off.

My Planet: Akbacavzite

6-2 planet.png

Currently my planet looks to be fairly small and I don't know if I will try to re-roll it for a bigger one. But according to what I have seen in discord and the feedback on my planet, I have heard it seems to be a decently small planet. This means I would probably be able to fully explore it and they have mentioned that larger planets might take a very long time to explore.

I don't mind small planets and being able to fully explore it seems like a good thing. However I feel it has more to do with the fact that nobody knows what a good planet should look like or not yet because the game is still in development.

Requirements

You need to have a starter pack to start playing the game. You can choose to buy a single pack for $10 each or all three for $20. I would suggest going to khazrach's post and use his referral link. He is giving away some free cards for using his link and I was also on the receiving end of this. Make sure to leave a comment on one of his posts so he can verify and then send you the NFTs.

Tips to get a Planet

The best guide I have seen for getting a planet can be found here. In fact I will just suggest you read this guide and I will just supplement it with my own experience.

6-2 set crew.png

First off is the Evacuation where you are on a space ship and you have to successful run away from armed forces and escape towards a planet. When you first start up the game, you can set your crew for the entire adventure.

6-2 crew stats.png

With the recent planet NFTs being added, you now have stat points to help you in the game. But I think the best thing to do is to put your skill points into your Pilot for piloting for the scanning stage since it will increase your chances of landing onto the planet.

A more in-depth guide of how to do the evacuation alone can be found here. The one linked before was more for planet scanning but you will primarily want to focus on getting back your crew members (call them back and send your current crew to find them). Then you want to load up fuel, fix hyperdrive and move yourself to the next phase. Unless your in it for the challenge right now, I suggest avoiding the cargo or recruiting citizens until later.

The rest of the planet scanning process has been explained in the post linked earlier. Basically all you need to do is set a pilot in the "HELM" tab and choose the "Activate Veilspeed" skill for a faster landing. The rest is up to luck and when I only had 80 piloting skill points, I failed 10 times in a row. After I redid the evacuation and had over 90 points in my piloting, I got my planet on my first try.

6-2 colonization pass.png

One thing to note is that you only have to pass evacuation once to find a planet. If you want to get a different planet then you may have to rerun that phase though. But you can feel free to keep scanning as many times as you want to finally get your planet NFT. Since this is a game of luck, you may have to try a few times.

Conclusion

Getting the planet itself isn't that hard and I found the discord to be quite useful. If you have already started playing then you should at least get your planet NFT before the end of June. According to what I have read in the actual chat, you still have a week or two to grab your Planets before the next phase is launched.

Please feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions or feedback.

I found the evacuation to be very lengthy and difficult. I ended up losing most of my crew and so I just shut the window and called it quits. Not sure how that is going to impact me if I decide to start playing again. The team seems to be pretty attentive. I'd like to get in early so I can take advantage, but I am kind of on the fence right now.

I would suggest giving it a try. Actually for the evacuation, you don't really need your crew so long as you have your pilot. So you could possibly keep relaunching the game until you have you have your pilot + a few more people to get fuel/hyperdrive. Then you can gamble your luck on the scanning stage and get your hands on a planet.

I tried it again and lost most of my crew. They died just out of the blue. I am not even sure why. Kind of frustrating. I am not sure I will give it a third go.

I highly suggest you move your crew out of the area and send them to get fuel or repair hyperdrive. Also crew members only die in the cargo hold and the other area with citizens. If you move them to either the captain's hold area where you launch or to the 2nd area where they get feul/hyperdrive, you will be safe.

If there are people who are MIA, then yes they will probably die. If you focus primarily on getting fuel and fixing the hyperdrive, you will be out of there quite early. Make sure to have a guy connected to the shields on the launch area when you launch though.

Also I don't know if you know it, but the first 4 boxes on the bottom are the areas you can directly access. Make sure to move people around and get them out of the dangerous areas first.

I think its a good choice if it takes off. Right now we are still in the alpha and they are rolling out changes every few weeks. But I do think having a planet would be a good choice when the actual gameplay starts.

Thanks for dropping by. Its still a game in development but they push updates every few weeks. Also the developers are actively chatting in discord from time to time so you can get a hold of them.
