My Hive Goals for 2023 Week #5: I am now a dolphin

I have decided to start posting a weekly update on my progress toward my 2023 goals here on Hive. It helps me stay on track and I can realize if I am behind on a goal at any point in time. If I am behind in any of my goals, it will allow me to make changes so I do accomplish them. One thing to note is that I am a dolphin now but I haven't seen the badge for it. So I am not sure what is going on there.

Progress

Above are statistics that I have gotten from HiveStats. This week was a bit better compared to the previous week and I am definitely felt better during the week. Life is still keeping me busy though.

HP

I got about the same as last week with 74 HP earned throughout the week. I am back on track after the slow results last week. My curation return is still 18 HP but I am not sure why it is so high this time around. My goal for curation is to just make sure that my voting power is never full. I was able to use up most of my voting power without any issues. I did participate in HPUD so it should be 64 HP if I discount the power up on that end. I am also a dolphin now but I don't know why hivebuzz doesn't seem to track my HP properly though.

HBD

I have added 24 HBD to my savings to get closer to my goal. It will compound with the rest of my HBD in my savings right now for the 20% APR. As I get closer to my HBD goal, I will stop adding as much to this goal and start using it for HP or LEO Power if I am behind. I am well on track towards this goal and the increase in price of hive only helps me on this end. I was also able to collect my interest and it was 23.361 HBD earned from the savings interest. With the price of Hive going up, getting HBD is easier and I am liking how things are going. I may even be able to increase my goals once it becomes closer.

LEO Power

My LEO balance has gone up by 59 over the past week and I think this result is fine. There is a little over 1 week left until LPUD and it looks like it will be a good power-up. I am a little disappointed that I didn't earn as much LEO through author and curations though but there isn't much I can do about that. Either way, I should be able to decrease the average LEO I need by another huge chunk and it will make the LEO goal easier to hit in the future months.

It's been a week since my last update and I am liking my progress so far. I am still on track to my own goals. My HBD goal is already close to 18% of the way there and we are only a little over a month in. I don't see any issues getting things done so long as I am consistent and my LEO is ready for the next LPUD.

Yes, it does. When hive price is high, we get more HBD and less hive. The opposite happens when hive price is low.

That's true, but we were actually referring to the upvote weight as it also moves up and down, following the Hive price. In other words, with the Hive price increase, your upvote value increased too, and although the curation is paid then slightly in a bigger portion in HBD and a smaller portion in Hive, the difference in your upvote value (before the price increase, and after) compensated the change in between HIVE/HBD payout. And that's why your curation return remained the same (18 HP).
Sorry that we didn't clarify right away that we are actually referring to the upvote weight. 😊

I am a little disappointed that I didn't earn as much LEO through author and curations

I hear you on that one, you would think Leo was a dollar with the low token rewards. It dont make sense that its so low.
Congrats on being a dolphin, thats a big deal!

Thanks and I think the value of LEO ended up being diluted by CUB and PolyCUB to an extent. The price ended up getting impacted quite a bit as people took out their LEO to pay for their pool positions.

Thank you. It's going to be a long road if I want to be an Orca but I think it's possible. It will probably take years though.

What is the level for Orca? Is it 50k HP? If so, then yes. It will take years...

I think Orca is around 56k HP. It's about 10x from what dolphin is and it grows slowly as the supply of hive increases.

Thank you. I think I will hold off on buying for now because my LEO buy orders did get filled when Hive pumped up. Although, it doesn't seem like a bad idea to buy more to make it easier for my goal to be reached in the future months.
