Hive Engine Analyses / Buying & Selling Token

So today I decided to buy up some lotus token which is natural medicine token, I had little or no experience using hive engine but I'm thrilled on the little understanding I gained while purchasing that token. Normally if you want to buy any token from hive engine, all you need do is login and go over to market, which is where I am now.

Yesterday when I made the purchase, the price was a bit higher than this but you should take note of this price which shows 0.0626hive/$0.00943. This means the price of the last transaction carried out, you should also take note that for every buy order, there is also a sell order.

At first I was wondering why the lowest ask was higher than the buy order being placed in the list, I took some time to monitor and understand how the market works and why we have the buy order marked in green been placed under the sell lotus and why the sell order marked in yellow been placed under the buy lotus.

I got to understand that the prices are affected by each transaction being made, the lowest ask which is also the first in the sell orders is the amount that a user is ready to sell at that particular time, same goes for the highest bid. If I'm not in a rush to get my token, I can put my buy order at a low price and wait for the first set of orders to get filled before it gets to my turn as you can see in the buy order.

Likewise, if I have no idea about how the market works or if I'm in a rush to get the token, all I need do is to click on the lowest ask for an immediate transaction. With this example, I bought 0.5lotus at 0.0654hive

If you took note, when we started the last price was at 0.0626 but after my transaction, it changed to 0.0654. With this brief analyses, I do hope you gained some knowledge about buying and selling token in hive engine.
