It's been a while since I've been to this wonderful ¨FungiFridayCommunity¨:  and I must admit that I have really missed being here accompanying our friend @ewkaw in his kind invitation to participate in this great ¨FungiFridayContest¨:  This is one of those initiatives that you can not stop participating for the knowledge What do you get? This is a community where participants share their knowledge and experiences. If you are passionate about mushrooms you have to participate in this challenge


Aunque hace algún tiempo que estoy en esta aventura de buscar hongos, siempre estoy aprendiendo algo nuevo, y es lo que me apasiona de participar de este desafío. Una cosa es salir con la cámara y hacer fotografía de los hongos que hallas, y muy diferente es al momento de identificarlos, siempre se presenta algún interrogante ante las similitudes de los hongos. En esta oportunidad estaba convencido que se trataba de una sola variedad, pero al ver detenidamente supe que se trataba de dos variedades distintas

Although I've been on this mushroom hunting adventure for some time, I'm always learning something new, and that's what I'm passionate about participating in this challenge. It is one thing to go out with the camera and take a photograph of the mushrooms you find, and it is very different when it comes to identifying them, there is always some question about the similarities of the mushrooms. On this occasion I was convinced that it was a single variety, but when I looked carefully I knew that it was two different varieties


Una de las variedades es un hongo que vemos con mucha frecuencia, y si siguen mis posts regularmente lo recordaran. Se trata de una especie conocida con el nombre de ¨Neolentinus¨¨lepideus¨ ¨:  un hongo de aspecto limpio con unas particulares manchas en la parte superior, su extrema blancura siempre llama mi atención, sobre todo cuando están en pleno desarrollo como podemos observar. Un hongo que crece en terrenos húmedos sobre tronco de madera o ramas de árboles caídos

One of the varieties is a fungus that we see very often, and if you follow my posts regularly you will remember it. It is a species known by the name ¨Neolentinus¨¨lepideus¨ ¨:  a clean-looking mushroom with some particular spots on the upper part, its extreme whiteness always draws my attention, especially when they are in full development as we can see. A fungus that grows in damp soil on wooden trunks or fallen tree branches


La segunda variedad no es tan frecuente como la anterior, y pocas veces le he visto antes aquí. Es un hongo llamado ¨Cyttaria¨:  no se decir cual de las dos docenas de especies que hay, pero por su forma, sus puntos particulares y en el lugar donde se encuentra me hace suponer que se trata de esta variedad que crece en esta zona del mundo. Para ayudarlos a identificar mejor giré el tronco donde estaban, e hice algunas tomas desde esa posición

The second variety is not as common as the first, and I've rarely seen it here before. It is a fungus called ¨Cyttaria¨:  I don't know which of the two dozen species that exist, but due to its shape, its particular points and the place where it is found, it makes me suppose that it is about this variety that grows in this area of the world. To help them identify better I turned the trunk where they were, and took some shots from that position


Tengo entendido que ambas especies son comestibles, pero por su tamaño hay que recolectar muchos de ellos para hacer una receta decente. En lo particular no cocinamos ¨hongos¨¨silvestres¨, nuestra falta de experiencia no nos da seguridad y no deseamos intoxicarnos, cuando queremos comer hongos vamos a la tienda, en algunas ocasiones comparamos frescos y fuera de temporada adquirimos los enlatados. Nuestra cámara ¨nikoncoolpixb500¨ fue la responsable de estas bellas tomas

I understand that both species are edible, but due to their size you have to collect a lot of them to make a decent recipe. In particular, we do not cook "wild mushrooms", our lack of experience does not give us security and we do not want to get poisoned. When we want to eat mushrooms we go to the store, sometimes we buy fresh ones and out of season we buy canned ones. Our ¨nikoncoolpixb500¨ camera was responsible for these beautiful shots
