Hello friends and followers of this wonderful ¨ArchitectureDesignCommunity¨:  I think most will agree with this statement, the best thing that has happened to those of us who love architecture is to have this place where we can share the images of our passion, and we owe it to our friend @storiesoferne who had the brilliant idea of creating this space with those of us who love architecture in mind. Very happy to be here again in the company of everyone sharing some beautiful images of two architectural icons of my town. I've wanted to introduce you to these beauties of architecture for a long time, but until now I haven't had the opportunity to visit the towns where these beauties are located. A few days ago we had a visit from my brothers-in-law, Ana and Ariel are people like us, they love to appreciate period architecture, and what better place to let them know than these beautiful towns that keep true treasures of architecture.

On this occasion I want to invite you to visit two buildings from times that are inside the "province" of "Corrientes". As I mentioned before, we receive visits from my brothers-in-law, they are passionate about period buildings and have long wanted to get to know two beautiful inland towns. One of these buildings is located in a town called ¨Santa¨¨Ana¨ about 35 kilometers from my city, and the most imposing building is located in a town that is more than 85 kilometers away called ¨Itati¨

The first period construction that I want to show you is a beautiful ¨ parish located in a town called ¨Santa¨¨Ana¨: . The construction has been standing for more than 255 years. The "colonial" style of construction is the responsibility of "Franciscan" hands, that is, it was the Franciscan priests who built the church. The facade of the building is simple and straightforward, with a distinctive touch in the moldings that shape the front and frame the openings, the side galleries give character and personality to the construction, the bell tower and its round dome provide a beautiful finish, the lanterns clearly show the time of construction

The side walls were built in "adobe bricks" and settled in mud, the fine-textured plaster was made in mud, the gabled roof, faithful "colonial style" ¨ was built in wood and finished in colonial tiles, the interior floor was made of granite, while the exterior of the front and that of the galleries is built with ¨adobe¨ bricks, a unique and genuine finish, something that is used a lot at that time

The second building corresponds to a beautiful¨ basilica built more than 72 years ago in the town of ¨Itati¨:  The imposing building was built by an Italian architect. The four columns on the front certify the "Italian style" of the construction, the building was built in three parts, in two of the lateral parts we can see two small domes, while in the central body we can see the main dome that gives personality to construction; the large hand-carved openings, and the fountain at the front add character to the basilica. The construction was made with "adobe" bricks set in cement, the exterior and interior walls finished in fine masonry, the tile roof gives rise to a beautiful terrace that gives the possibility of seeing the length of the town

Hello dear friend @aplusd good day
You are very right, this time I focus more on the architectural part of the buildings and mention very little of the background of the buildings
Thanks for the observation

Good afternoon dear friend @jlufer magnificent structures in currents I love how preserved they look both outdoors and indoors. I must admit that both buildings I related them to the metropolitan cathedral and the Buenos Aires cabildo is a smaller version obviously. Thanks for sharing these beautiful works of your city my friend. They are jewels 🧡

Dear friend @jlufer, thank you for appreciating my work and that of my dear colleagues @aplusd! 😊
Your contribution this week is remarkable as usual. As a traditionalist in terms of architecture, I was captivated more by the simple facade of the old colonial Parroquia Santa Ana de los Guácaras.
The human eye is usually attracted to bright colors, but in this case I find that it can also be attracted to the plain white color, which perhaps wants to suggest more purity and innocence, a place cleansed of sins.
Of course, the Basílica de Nuestra Señora de Itatí also deserves our attention, but Santa Ana somehow radiates more warmth and hospitality. 😊
What do you think? What was your perception while visiting these places?

I share your opinion dear friend @soulsdetour Santa Ana transmits more tranquility and warmth, although Itati is the one with the greatest tourist attraction, the tranquility of the place is what attracted me the most
I felt an emotion being there, you can perceive the presence of spirituality in every corner of these buildings
Thank you very much for the enormous support you always give me
Have a beautiful day

I felt an emotion being there, you can perceive the presence of spirituality in every corner of these buildings

Sometimes it is the feeling, the atmosphere and the spirit of the building that are most important in one temple. It's not even so much the architecture. Well, when the architecture is ancient, this can be felt in the spirit of the building as well.
But from the above comment I understand why you decided to present these two buildings in one post. 😊

Greetings dear friend @jlufer. It's a privilege to witness 2 historic buildings of religious importance from your homeland, both exhibiting an interesting diversity of architectural styles: Colonial and Italian. Personally, I prefer the design of the beautiful basilica from the town of Itati due to its eye-catching and distinctive details, showing more class, elegance, and sophistication. 😊

What were your initial impressions of the 2 buildings featured here, and which one would you consider your favorite?

Hello dear friend @historiasoferne good afternoon
What you say is very true, the Itati basilica is the most elegant, the difference with the other lies in the professionals who created it, this one was built by architects, while the parish of Santa Ana was built by the Franciscans in aid of indigenous people
My favorite is the parish of Santa Ana, the tranquility and spirituality that is perceived in the place is what motivates my decision
I thank you with all my heart for your kind words and the enormous support you always give me.
Have a beautiful day in the company of the people you love

Wow! You have an excellent point here. Sometimes more traditional buildings do captivate our hearts as opposed to other more complex architecture. Thank you for expressing your interesting opinion. Have a fantastic day! 😊
