Time is a serious thing, sometimes it happens that we wait for an important date, we make plans well in advance and just when we think that everything is fine and on track, we look at the calendar and the date that until yesterday seemed far away turns out to be tomorrow.

Just like that happened to us with this birthday celebration: we set out to do a review of the preparations to make sure everything is in order. Jane was in charge of the decoration, her taste is exquisite and her feminine qualities of foresight and order do not leave any details out. I take a look at the living room, I like the wallpaper in pastel blue and ochre tones (I don't know, the combination of blue and brown has always appealed to me) yes, that's why I didn't take care of the decoration Ah the table! Just as we had imagined it wide, with enough place settings for all the guests, in the center but not so much in the center ( Well, that's what Jane said) so it wouldn't interrupt the space in case someone wanted to dance. The tablecloth of fine linen shows its golden matte that serves as an environment for the tableware (that we only use in moments like this and causes us small heart attacks with every little noise that diners make) the menu is ready, rich and varied delicacies and drinks of all kinds (coffee mainly because we will toast with it) it seems strange that we toast with coffee? It seems stranger to me that someone does not like coffee. Well well, I continue to see the room, the piano is tuned for Johan Sebastian to do his magic, maybe Luwing is encouraged, but we already know how his character is. So I went over the all elements, everything seems to be in order.

The day of this wonderful second anniversary has arrived, the excitement runs in gushes through the wide corridors of the house, since early Jane has dedicated herself to make herself pretty (according to me, it does not require so much effort) and I for my part have put on my best suit. I hear the sound of a carriage outside and the shout of a coachman stopping the horses; I go out to receive the first guests: Benjamin Franklin is the first to get out of the carriage, he greets us kindly with a slight bow (he offered to check the creaking of my rocking chair whenever possible) then Johan Sebastian Bach comes down, he greets from afar while he waits for Luwing Beethoven who is brought by the arm to the entrance where we formalize the greeting. Jane accompanies them inside while I stay outside, as more guests are arriving. The vintage car stops, the first to get out is a lady dressed in indigo, very beautiful, she looked like a little piece of heaven walking towards my entrance, behind her came, adjusting her belt Teddy Roosevelt and further back Lewis Caroll and Michael Jackson. We all went inside to settle at our table.

The mood brightens with Bach playing his Coffee cantata on the piano, Lugwing next to him with both hands on the piano chest, Jane next to me jabs me in the side with her elbow while her gaze points to the glittering lady in blue, She asks me who she is and why I invited her (with a jealous tone of course), I escape saying that it was not my idea but Roosevelt's, Her name was Penelope and she came from a place called Ithaca, some extravagant place in the Mediterranean I think, poor woman I finished saying. Another nudge from Jane urged me to explain that last comment, you see dear the poor woman is all alone since her husband left years ago to do a job. Jane's arched eyebrows seemed to be unhappy so I continued to explain; yes honey, it's a guy by the name of Ulysses, from what I heard it seems to me he's a famous hacker codenamed Odysseus. where do you get that he's a hacker? Jane asked me with her elbow again; dear I guess because the job he was given was to remove some Trojans, what else could it be honey?. Not too pleased Jane got up to pour more coffee for the guests, except for Lewis Carol who preferred tea while he chatted with Michael Jackson about the things they most enjoyed sharing with children, Lewis stories and Michael amusement parks.

At the other end of the table, Benjamin and Teddy talk politics, seasoning their coffee with a touch of cognac, I hope there is time to play a game of chess with Ben, by the way he solved the squeaking of my rocking chair (Thanks God)

Music fills the living room, the crockery clatters, our hearts beat and it's time for the group photo. Everybody says coffee.
