A Review Of My 2022 On Hive

We are just a few hours away from the new year and I can boldly say 2022 has been my best year on Hive so far, I will get to the reason why I consider 2022 to be my best so far on Hive later in this article.

Q1

We made it into January 2022 with the cryptocurrency market still in a bullish mode, though Hive had dropped from its All Time High of $3.41 the previous November, we had it over a dollar for most of January 2022.
It was great to see my total Hive wallet value back then, so it made more sense to keep building as it gave me a glimpse of Hive's possibilities when the ecosystem does become very busy with the masses flocking in.

I started the year with just over 11k Hive Power and with building my HP a priority for me, I set the goal to reach 15k Hive Power by end of 2022.
On March 12, 2022, I reached 12k HP and it felt great seeing the result of showing up daily.

Q2

From April I increase my engagement in the Leofinance community which includes content creation, and engagement.
Also in April, I got back into CubFinance haven and sold my position the previous year due to financial needs.

Q2 was great as attained 3k LEO Power and 13k Hive Power with the target being 5k LP and 15k HP respectively, my targets began to look promising.

Though the state of the market had the bears in full control with the UST/LUNA debacle. Nevertheless, I kept pushing for my target.

Q3

SPK token went live and enabled us to delegate LAYRNX to earn SPK tokens. That has been going on well as we expand our income streams on the Hive ecosystem with developments expanding to the second layer.

If you stuck around till Q3, you must be one of the brave ones that look beyond the state of the cryptocurrency market but believes in the future of the crypto.
Ethereum's much-anticipated Merge came to life in Q3 as developers continue to build despite the beer market, LeoThreads was launched giving us a Twitter-like microblogging on Hive.

And in Q3 I accumulated 14 Hive Power.

Q4

The LUNA/UST implosion wasn't enough for the year, FXT had to do its thing setting the crypto space some years back in advancement. While it hurts, one of the positives is it brings us back to basics, decentralization, and self-custody.

Q4 was fun for me as I consistently focus on my targets, I won a 10k LEO Power delegation for partaking in the monthly LPUD staking of LEO.
I surpassed my 5k LP target and ended the year with 6,568 LEO staked.

My 15K Hive Power goal was attained with 12 days to spare in 2022.
My goal is to reach 200k Collection Power on my Splinterlands assets, I am just 1165 short of that as am closing the year with 198,835 CP.

The SPS goal didn't turn out as I intend with 8400 staked while I aimed for 10k SPS.

Conclusion

Looking back specifically on Hive, it has been a successful year for me, I spent most of the year at home and that enabled me to make the best use of my time at home. Every day for me was like I was going to work, there were times I got up at 05:00, 06:00, and even 07:00 to get going on Hive.
At some stage, my friendship circle not only expanded but stayed impactful and one being collaborating with @josediccus for a weekly podcast amongst other relationships I have formed which I am enjoying and appreciative of.

Since the start of my Hive journey, I have seldom gone a day without engaging on Hive either through commenting, posting, or upvoting unless on days of Forks which are rare but this year has been the best as I got impacted in various ways aside from my goals which most were achieved.

For this, I am closing the year on a high, satisfied with a big thanks to everyone supportive, and looking forward to 2023 with a positive mind.
