5 Unique Ways To Foster Financial Wellness

Today we will be discussing "Financial Wellness." It is one of SAMSHA's 8 Dimensions Of Wellness. Financial wellness is "satisfaction with current and future financial situations." I work with many people on Disability, so I will not be discussing getting a second job. These are more ways to "stretch the dollar."

1.) Create A Budget - It's impossible to save money if you don't know where you are spending it and what you are spending it on. Keep detailed notes of where you are spending your money, and then you will have an idea of how much you spend in the future while still saving some for emergencies.

2.) Use Coupons and Cashback Apps - There are many coupons offline and online. Take advantage of them. You can even use coups at Dollar Tree! Many apps will allow you to get CashBack. Be sure to harness their benefits

3.) Buy In Bulk - Stores like Costco or Sam's Club allow you to get cheap food in bulk. For example, our family has a large freezer. As a result, we can buy chicken breast and frozen vegetables in larger sizes, save money, and spend less time shopping.

4.) Frequent Food Banks & Pantries If Necessary - If you need it, you can get a bulk of your food for free from food banks and pantries. I know a church that used to give everyone a shopping cart of food. Sometimes, getting food for free can determine whether or not you pay your rent. So don't be ashamed to use these services.

5.) Buy Frozen Fruits & Vegetables - Frozen vegetables are much cheaper, can be bought in bulk, and won't turn rotten. You can get fruit and vegetables in a can, but they have a lot of salt and sugar. Use frozen vegetables to save some extra money

These are just five ways, but there are a lot more. You just have to be creative. So what are some more ways to stretch the dollar? Let me know in the comments.
