Insight into My NYSC years

Hello good morning, today I have decided to share with you some of my experiences I had during my NYSC years and I must say that the The service year was full of ups and down. When I got the call up letter from University of Ilorin, Kwara state. I was very happy and full of Joy. I travelled to Shagamu in Ogun state where the NYSC camp was sited. I travelled from Ile ife and I got to ibadan and took another space bus to Shagamu and the bus driver was driving at Top speed and the space bus had an accident, it ran into a trailer what was parked beside the road and he couldn't control the bus. Some people died in the bus but I and a few people survived it. It was indeed a bad day for me. Although we were very close to Shagamu, and we got another bus that took us to the Camp.

The camp was a good place to be where people from different tribe meet in one place from different parts of the country and it was just like a military ground where we have some military guys in ground for morning parade, there was Mami market to buy food and drinks and it was all fun for the 3 weeks. We left the camp after 3 weeks and I was posted to Abeokuta and served at Sake High School and I taught Geography and Economics and I made sure I contributed my own quota to the development of the students and the school. I enjoyed the State capital and it a good place to live. There were so many infrastructural facilities there and the house were not too costly to rent. I left Abeokuta after 12 months of service to my nation.

I have shared some of the pictures I had during the service year.

Years later looking back at my NYSC year I do miss it. I served in Abuja and even though it was very expensive staying there, it was a great experience.
