Dear Ma,

You have built a legacy - and for the next generations to come, they will know how you are not just the world's most awesome mother, but that you are the most generous, caring, selfless and most loving soul this earth has ever seen. Truly.

You have endured so much (SO MUCH) just so you can raise eight children. Not only did you raise them (us) well but you have outdone yourself because they (we) would not be who they (we) are today if it weren't for you.

Your resilience amidst every adversity that came your way, even long before you became our Mother, is nothing short of extraordinary. How you manage to be so strong despite all the bad, ugly things that life has thrown at you - will always remain a mystery (at least to me).

You are a born leader, Ma. From being the eldest daughter in your family, helping out your parents just so you can help take care of your younger siblings - to being our mother, and doing everything in your power just so you can work/sell and help Papa provide for us.

You might be a worrier on some days, especially when it is about money; but the truth of the matter is this: you just care deeply about all of us and you want to make sure we are all well taken care of. You always think of us, your family, that you sometimes forget about your own needs. That's how I know that you are, and have always been, a warrior, more than a worrier. You have fought our battles for us and did not think, not even a tiny bit, of giving up on us, even when there had been some hard, hard days. You chose to fight and continue and you loved all of us something fierce, Ma.

You are the greatest gift God could ever give us, Ma. You have taught us love just by being you. You are "the" good neighbor that keeps on giving. You love without thinking about yourself. You are kind and compassionate and anyone who has encountered you would totally agree in a heartbeat.

Thank you for carrying us in your womb. Not only did you carry babies for two or three times - but eight. Thank you for being our first home. Thank you for nourishing us and taking care of us - AND for not ceasing to take care of us the moment we begin to grow in your belly up to now even when we are grown-ups and have lives of our own. Thank you for getting us educated. Thank you for teaching us lessons outside the four corners of the classroom. Thank you for cooking us delicious meals every single day. We may not be rich materially but your love and care and provision made it possible for us to feel like we're more than rich growing up ~ because we are blessed to be loved and nurtured by you, Ma, in more ways than one.

A loving, loyal, and devoted wife (cannot be argued). An incredible cook (a.k.a. Masterchef). A small-business owner (also: street vendor). A housewife (who clearly should be given more than a Doctorate Degree at being one). A magician who keeps the house spotless (who shares her secrets and we pretend to forget lol). A hardworking human being (hardworking-est). A faithful woman who always asks for God's hand in her life. A generous neighbor to all. A good, good daughter and even greater sister. A worrier who keeps calling her children if they are still not home that night (also read: even if not at night, she will call). A crazily caring loving super-Mom who would move mountains for her children. A supportive grandmother (not just to hooman babies but to doggos as well) - all of these, and more. That's who you are, Mama.

We love you something fierce, Ma. Yours is a legacy that the rest of the world will keep talking about and will not shut up about it. We will make sure of that. (The internet now knows. It will only take a matter of minutes before the entire world does.)
