From The Town Of Rottweil...

This won't be my usual post tonight...

It's not really business focused. There isn't much 'crypto' emphasis here. I'm just going to share with you a story of my best friend...

This is Dakota.

She was pretty much the best dog you could ever ask for. And I know, I know...Everyone says that about their favorite dog. But you see, I was never really a dog person....

Until...

Way back in 2004 I thought it would be a good idea for my first born son to grow up with a pet dog. I had my heart set on a black Labrador Retriever. And it wasn't that I was a fan of the dog, it just seemed like the 'safe choice'. It was loyal, great around kids and would keep us all active.

My kids mother at the time and I were in the midst of breaking up, but she was crystal clear about one thing...If I was going to get a dog to be around our son, she said I had to get a Rottweiler.

Excuse me...A what?

Isn't that the dog that's like...SUPER dangerous? Hasn't it hurt more people that we can count? Isn't it vicious?

She just said to me, look I know we aren't going to work out but TRUST ME on this...You will never own a better dog.

So off my son and I went about 3 hours from home, and picked up Dakota from a farmer and his wife.

She lived for 13 years and passed away in early 2017. And if you know anything about Rottweilers, you will know that they don't last very long.

A breeder once told me, they will melt your heart and break it because as quick as they come into your life, they are gone. 9-10 years is what you can expect so Dakota being in my life for 13 was a real blessing.

When Dakota passed away, it really hurt. I mean, I know people talk about the loss of a pet and we kind of shrug it off like 'it's an animal, get over it'. However I never really did....'Get over it'!

She literally was with me during my most vulnerable moments in life. Stuck by my side, and was just the perfect companion I could have asked for.

My wife now, was with me when we had to put Dakota down, and she knew...There was something missing since 2017 for me. We spoke about getting a new dog for me, and I wasn't sure how I would handle getting....A new Rottie.

Welp...

This is....'Puppy'!

I call her that because we aren't sold on a name for her yet, but we have been leaning towards 'Sheba'.

She's a 7 week old purebred Rottweiler and we just picked her up yesterday afternoon. The pup spent the night with us and just like Dakota did so many years ago, decided to make that first night....One to remember lol

The pup decided to whine and cry at around 4:30 in the morning and that got me started with my relationship with Rottweiler #2 in my life.

I can't even begin to describe what it feels like to have this dog again. And I know, she'll never be 'Dakota' but I'm looking forward to the decade plus I'll be able to have with her!

I might not be a 'dog person' or at least I never thought I was...But then I owned a Rottweiler. And everything changed....I'm pretty sure you'll ask anyone that has ever owned one of these magnificent dogs and they'll tell you...

It's a Rottie world and we're very lucky to be living in it!

Now we just need to come up with a name for her lol
