I don’t understand the obsession with assault rifles. If you wanna have a handgun. whatever. that’s the right of americans i suppose for protection. but the assault rifles. i’ll never understand.

that being said. you will never be able to legislate evil.

Yeah Jon, I don't understand the obsession either. My Step-Father is a former Navy Seal, he was in Vietnam, and he has practically an arsenal in his home... the same home my mother lives in. I trust him after knowing him for nearly 40 years, but it still makes me nervous every time I visit, and I truly DONT GET IT. You would think after all the war he experienced, he would not want anything to do with violence or the tools of that violence, but... here we are.

I have no problem with people that want to own a handgun or a shotgun for hunting, hell even a bolt-action rifle that shoots one round at a time I don't have issues with, but an AR-Style weapon that could be turned into fully automatic with attachments that you can find on the web, I just don't get it. these weapons have one purpose and one purpose only, to kill people.

It escapes me...

As for legislating evil... Well, there are different opinions on what actually could be legislated, whether it be the guns themselves or better mental health access in our fine health care system. Either path is full of potholes and better blocking than the Bills' Offensive Line. I don't have the answer, all I know is these weapons do not belong in the hands of ordinary citizens, they are weapons of war, nothing less.
