The Natalina plant, despite coming from an always hot region, has no difficulty in adapting to any type of climate, making its cultivation simple, which can also take place inside your apartment.

Is native to southern Brazil and was imported into Europe for ornamental purposes thanks to its particular leaves and splendid inflorescences during the Christmas period, i.e. between December and January.

The peculiarity of the leaves is found in the fact that each leaf is joined to the previous one and to the following one. Furthermore, the leaves do not develop upwards but tend in the opposite direction forming small fuchsia-colored flowers at the end.

The color of the flowers varies between purple and purplish-red. To ensure that the flowers of the Natalina plant do not wither before flowering, it will be very important that you keep your plant away from possible sources of heat and drafts.

Let's see some information together, to get a Natalina, thick and shiny.

To make your Natalina plant ever more luxuriant, it is very important that you always use a specific soil, paying particular attention to fertilization and watering.

Natalina is a perennial and evergreen plant which, if it receives the right amount of mineral salts, water (strictly low in limestone) and cleaning of the dry parts, will be able to give you splendid inflorescences during the Christmas period.

Like most cactus species, natalina (Schlumbergera) also prefers a bright location. Avoid direct sunlight so as not to burn the ends. The perfect temperature for Christmas is between 20 and 23 degrees, so an indoor location is best.

Pruning of the plant should take place about a month after the flowering period is complete. This will encourage the plant to branch out and grow after a short rest period. To prune a Christmas Cactus, simply twist the stem between the segments on the stem and remove the section.
