Government VS Crypto: The "New" War Of Worlds?

A Static Institution

Government will always remain corrupt, not because it is centralized, but because it is an institution with a static framework that molds or bends people to conform to its rules. Democracy is somehow meant to be the government "of" the people, but Overtime it has formed a certain tradition, the mentality of governance is being passed on from one individual to another thereby creating a certain kind of influence no matter the change in individual, personnel or people. This, however, isn't the reason for this post.

For example, the personnel in government changes every four years (in some states) but the stance on government on things like crypto, economic framework or even revenue generation still remains the static. The Nigerian government for example has remained anti-crypto for a very long time and if there's a change in power, how come these same people too suddenly become anti-crypto? It's the system. For example, there's the notion that Crypto will destroy the Naira, or be the end to the superiority of government when it comes to the degree or level of control they can wield.

Government VS Crypto is the latest war of worlds, this is because almost every government of the world is anti-crypto at the moment and the only reason why it isn't so obvious is the degree or level which it is being expressed, either through the banks or through monetary and financial policies.

In Nigeria for example, the launch of things like e-naira, the financial Incentivize to hold naira, or the ban of crypto through the commercial banks is all a bid to stifle the growth of crypto. The SEC in the US, for example, is a body establish to regulate crypto activities. The funniest thing here is that most of these organizations are static, democracy is a government that's been taken over by oligarchs, monopolists who become wealthier by benefitting from the ignorance and cluelessness of people.

Economics Vs Politics

Furthermore, government is not sophisticated in nature, the system is static and not participatory as well. People who are true economic geeks are not given a shot when it comes to governance. Back in the days it uses to be parliamentary in nature where you have a head of state and of government. If you study the trend of government, it has become less participatory and more inclusive for the old guards.

To rule a state, a person should have an in-depth knowledge of politics and economics, but the latter is being kicked out, while the former is currently championed to the letter and this is why most states are economically inept and struggling to follow the trend of technology as it influences so many economic concepts and shatters many monetary frameworks that are only textbook but hardly functional. One of the reasons why government might forever frown against financial dependence free from the clutch of the system is that government needs the participatory aspect of people to remain powerful and wealthy.

There's no blend to government, the world is governed on the basis of political parameters, and this is why many African states might remain really poor for a very long time. Their means of generating income is strictly politicalized, Their leaders follow the same system erected since their independence, failing to change it because it suits their thievery and embezzlement.

Government would have to be dynamic to actually understand the role crypto will play in changing so many rigid monetary ideologies that are redundant as well as mundane. But the truth is, money, means and opportunities means that people will develop more choices, they wouldn't have to be totally dependent on the system to provide them jobs or essential commodities, Crypto would form a virtual community of empowered individual, making it seem like a loose Confederal government with no recognized entity or power at the top.

The War Of Systems: Government/Crypto

Government believes that when people are capable, especially financially, they'll have no need for the system, hence the people will be more powerful than the machinery itself. This is particularly the case in a place like Nigeria. While government can easily generate money on its own, they'll need the people to maintain the ultimate status of lord and ruler, and this is juxtaposing considering that democracy was supposed to create equality between the system and the people. Financially, this has been daunting. The truth is, crypto has become a big player since the inception of bitcoin and has since then threatened to create a shift in balance.

The question remains: would we attain a world where the government will succumb to the sophistication and advancement of crypto and how it changes so many economic narratives?" I totally doubt this because the government as a machinery itself is not dynamic and prone to change due to how the current system is solely beneficial to it, and it's personnel. Nevertheless, there's no changing how far crypto can go, it's like catching the wind, the battle will obviously still continue.

Politics are crazy and it's similar to how the US was basically a uni-party. It was just showing a different public front to cater to the public. Are the politicians bought off by the lobbyists like the US? It seems like money talks in pretty much all three branches of the government.

Money talks like you've mentioned, it's all about using that money to gain that affluence. More money brings even more money.

Government believes that when people are capable, especially financially, they'll have no need for the system, hence the people will be more powerful than the machinery itself.

You killed it here, there will be no need for any government when you are financially free, they are scared of seeing people making their own decisions. Government have thier way of bending people and manipulating them to do their will but imagine a country where people are not scare of government and depending on them, trust me things will change fast and their corrupt ways will be easily dealt with.

This war has been happening for a long time but the government is winning but let see what will happen is next couple of years

Yes. Unfortunately all it takes from the government is to intentionally keep the people under the local minimum wage. People are in fear. They fear that they lose their jobs, and they do not dare to raise a word against this oppression/suppression.

Take a look at politics, government parastatals use campaign funds to influence people to vote for them. Imagine if Nigeria has 95% Financially free citizens, there would be no manipulation of elections. These freedoms would eventually reflect on a huge change in the way the system works. So poverty is a major tool used to control people.

Yeah a prosperous society would make them find it difficult to find people that they they use as their political tools and thuggery.

I really hope that the cryptocurrency will win, and the suppression/oppression will be finally over. Have a nice day. All the best. Greetings from Hungary from a person, who lives with multiple disabilities under the local minimum wage.

They are going to become more strict against trading of cryptos in Nigeria ,not because they care about nigerians...But it is because they want to promote their own so called E-naira....but the voice of the people is greater than the government....shame on the nigerian government...

Hahaha e-naira's purpose is to even divert the attention of people from crypto. They want a version of crypto they can actually control. It's ridiculous. This country is a hellhole.

Sadly for them , the normal version of crypto that we know will overpower their own nonsense version of crypto...

The Nigerian government for example has remained anti-crypto for a very long time and if there's a change in power, how come these same people too suddenly become anti-crypto?

I wonder, and the most painful thing is that most of this politicians who makes rules against cryptocurrency have large amounts of crypto in their secrete wallets to hide some traces of their embezzled money.

To rule a state, a person should have an in-depth knowledge of politics and economics, but the latter is being kicked out, while the former is currently championed to the letter…..

The present Governor of Ondo state for example, he has no economic or innovation idea, for the past four years of his tenure, it has been as though he never existed. May God help us.

Their leaders follow the same system erected since their independence, failing to change it because it suits their thievery and embezzlement.

This explains the reason for every action they take, they are only there for their personal benefits, and they would do anything to stop anything that doesn’t benefit them.

I wouldn't be actually surprised. Most of the system is erected based on politics, not having the right economic ideologies. This is why Nigeria is not moving forward economically. Most of them take actions based on what the previous rulers have done. They have not represented the people economically which should be an important basis for a nation to actually function properly. It's definitely saddening. Even their special advisers on economic issues aren't economically qualified.

In India, we all are fighting the government to make crypto as legal, but still they are trying it to ban it. Though I know they will not able to ban it, but again they will not make it as legal tender all because they cannot do much corruption with the crypto currency.

Of course it'll never be a legal tender in a place as China, at least incorporating crypto in the system is good enough. Making it a legal tender is a move we might never seen in 20 years by many government of the world.

Crypto would form a virtual community of empowered individual, making it seem like a loose Confederal government with no recognized entity or power at the top.

  • The fact that crypto is decentralized kills them. They understand it is a free unlimiting system that allows people to actualize financial freedom and independence from the government.
  • Also, the Nigerian government especially are leeches. They want to benefit from the people when they start-up something but do not want to aid or provide an enabling environment for them to start, grow, or even thrive. They live to see the citizens impoverished.
  • Plus they have not devised a way to impose tax on crypto earners 😂, I am sure this is a major pain point for them.

Another amazing post @josediccus!
