Splinterlands: Being Vested In A Sophisticated Business Model

avatar

Splinterlands have been shaping up nicely and this includes different and more incentives for playing the game. I've seen people who own over $100k of investment and the difference between these people and me is that they have more skin in the game. So this skin they have in the game makes them more intentional about the whole trajectory of the game.

They're whales, so they're more like the voice of check. Because they're hugely vested in, they're always on the lookout for the constant development in the reward system, the adoption rate of more real players, growth in retention of value and so many other things.

These things decide if they're to stay vested or not. The overall value rather and the ability of the project to become better in value is always the aim.

Creating A profitable Win-win Situation

The regular dip in price is something that will inevitably come and go but because the project itself can maintain and sustain its value, it can more or less guarantee better output over time. $100k is a lot of money and whoever is vested with such an amount of money would systematically seek for return on investment and how the level of continuity.

This is something splinterlands brings to the table. when a project can give a glimpse of a better and possible output it forestalls trust which brings a "win-win situation". The product itself has developed a model where the incentives to being vested are more than that of cashing out.

This isn't to say people aren't aiming to make a profit and withdraw their proceeds, they are, but in a different way. Some of the business models we have in the world are based on taking value but never replacing it, which is tantamount to "milking the cow" and never making efforts to fatten it.

Capital & Investment: A Vivid Disparity

The most sophisticated crypto business model is recreating value in a cyclical format, making it easier for people to slowly get wealthy while growing their stakes. This is why sometimes when people are incentivized in the best ways they're prepared to leave their money in a trusted system because of some possibilities that it'll talk about.

First of all, their stake at hand or in liquid and fiat form will give them the instant gratification of owning it, but it's not more than that. Unless this money is locked in a scheme, it doesn't generate any income for sustainable living. Now one's capital is the money they have at hand and unless it's vested it remains capital.

Having capital isn't enough because such amounts are prone to spending. Because we constantly need money to thrive, this is the main reason why we choose to be vested and live comfortably off the returns of investment on these projects we've built.

The Aim To Build A Sustainable ROI For One's Capital

Most splinterlands whales are vested in the project because they're hoping they can build a sustainable ROI that can be impactful to their finance over time. Due to this, the impact they hold is felt in the ways they act as voices of check for the project.

This is why blockchain projects rules. The system is empowered and built on the tethers of individuals vested in the project and its future. One of the reasons to believe in the future of splinterlands is how it's massively gotten external traction while built on the Hive blockchain.

People no longer need to individually build wealth for themselves, collectively they can, while building a sophisticated network of value around different niches and interests. The power of attaining a "win-win situation" is very important and this is deliberate in building a web 3 model.

Getting A CL Pack From Daily Quest.

Now talking about splinterlands, I managed to get a CL pack and a Pelacor Bandit as the rewards from playing my last daily quest of the season. This is probably the best I've ever gotten from my daily quest and it was amazing.

This is the second CL pack I'll be getting since I started playing in silver III and it's quite surprising because it's a daily quest and most times my expectations are towards something decent and nothing more. The CL PACK goes for over $2 but what's even more exciting is the prospect of opening it.

Now, I'm not saying there's a guarantee that the content of the pack will exceed $2 it can even be lower than that if I compare the value of the different cards inside it. However, I can decide to take the easier way by actually selling the pack for $2 but as I said earlier in my post, there's currently the incentive of holding it for the SPS airdrop rather than selling it and this makes it even better.

I'll be waiting for about 55 days to open it, but the better excitement is anticipating a better outcome

Are from outside Hive?
How did you find out about SPlinterlands?

Was looking for a card game that's not Gwent or Hearthstone. Tried Magic the Gathering Arena, didn't feel right and don't like the idea of sinking so much money to a virtual game and that's it.

Ended up searching for card games on blockchain.

Found Gods Unchained as well. But Hearthstone style takes too long each game and I don't have a lot of spare time. It is still fun once in a while.

Splinterlands is perfect.

It was also what got me into Hive as well. I saw an ad for it and I gave it a try. It took me some time to learn about Hive afterward though.

This is probably the first time I've seen you say this @jfang003 Wow, you seem to have slotted into hive rather perfectly

I have actually mentioned it a few times and I think I have posted about it a few times as well. It was what got me into Hive and it was hard to change from a consumer to a content creator.

Well I haven't really noticed, anyways I feel that writing locally about your financial interest rather than mainly crypto can change that.

It took time and nothing really started to go well on Hive until I started engaging.

That's great. There are other aspects of the chain that you can explore too. Take the time

I've never played in silver so never won a pack as a quest. That's pretty awesome. I'm personally leaning a little more toward @risingstargame right now. Im able to learn it at a faster pace and it doesn't depend on battle which I like. I will still peck away at splinterlands but its not as fun for me as it used to be.

(Edited)

I have played Silver, so I don't now if it is due to the recent rules change or just good luck. In either case congratulations.!

Playing in silver is good, but I alway have to grind my way up to silver III, since I'm always pulled back every end of the season. I don't play risingstar, maybe Ragnarok.

grinding on splinterlands is hard. I find rising star easy and profitable. I think that is the place for me for awhile. I'm starting to understand the tokenomics better

Never have I checked risingstar, sounds like on to give a try but I love battle.
I can still here myself screaming from losing nothing when I was playing SPS to get rewards on hive engine.

The dream: decentralization and web 3.0
I agree 100% with your supposition that whales can use their voice as a check and insure play to earn is a win win, buy influencing the rules which determine the roi.
Eventually SPS will be the DAO token, or governance token of SPlinterlands and we will all be able to vote our opinion and govern the game. BUt until the whales vote with their money, as you ahve alluded to, and move in and out of SPS, DEC and other Splinterlands assets in acordance with their ROI.

Then dream of decentralization is governance by the people, and for the people, in a system better then democracy. As we see democracy is a flawed governance model, which is evolving.

The dream of decentralized finance is to level the playing fiel and give people the chance to succeed based on their ability to understand the rules of the game. And not be excluded because they don't possess great wealth.

The dream of web 3.0 is to give content creators back the ownership of their conte.nt, give them back control of their relationship with their fans and patrons and give them back the value for their content. Likewise it can give people who enjoy content back the value of their time and attention.

$100k is a lot of money and whoever is vested with such an amount of money would systematically seek for return on investment and how the level of continuity.

Most people would do that. Nowadays I have an investment of around $300 USD in Splinterlands, but I am striving to earn regular active and passive income with it. I know. And I am also trying to have fun.

I know. There are people, who say that $300 USD is not an investment, but "playing around". Compared to $100 000 USD, it is an indeed very small amount of money.

Good luck and have fun.

I did invest about 800 or $900 as well and I haven't started cashing in on the game and this is absolutely fine by me. I'm hoping I can build something that works overtime. Maybe in the course of 2 to 3 years. Plus, you're right $100k is a lot of money and I'm grateful that somehow the whales atw trying to hold the game accountable. It makes for growth and development

Slow and steady grinding to the top.
Whales are called whales for a reason, it doesn't matter to me they can't do it on their own they also need little accounts to keep the pace and numbers increasing nonetheless.

That sounds funny saying $300 is no investment, you use what you can afford to lose.
Compared to $1 million, $100k is a very small money, grind where you can and leave the rest for the talkers.

I just love it when I get a pack in my quest rewards, this does however not happen a lot. (I also got one yesterday!!)

I think Splinterlands is a nice investment, with so much growth potential.

Congrats on the pack bro, I have been keenly awaiting end of the current season am glad we are just about 7 hours away now.
The consistent play to have Splinterlands sustainable and be here for years to come is what gives investors confident to invest hugely and that is what I seek in a project I invest in I want to be at ease knowing my investment have the possibilities of sustainability.

Hahaha, thank you, well. I think it's important to see the solidity of the product. In recent times, most of the cards I bought have dipped like 10x but then they've been instrumental in helping me win a lot so I still call in a win-win whenever. It's great to be here, even if I'm just a tiny investor.

Splinterlands is a whole new world that really got my attention when I started my hive journey as I was always playing on a daily but it was rather complex for me.
You know the part of winning and losing but don't know why and as you try to understand you get derailed? That was my part.

Anyway, many are really making a lot from it.
I'm glad that splinterlands is here on hive blockchain and being included in the DeFi world with PolyCUB.
More wins to the heads in it, would buy cards and rent when my eggs are hatched.

Lately I am not much into games. It is a door opening wide for Hive having splinterlands bringing players that stay for Hive. Gald you are earning everywhere.
This is the beginning of something good.

Yeah, I know you're not really the gaming type and I think another contributing factor has been time sometimes it takes time to master the economic and in-game strategy.

Gald you are earning everywhere.

I'm not really earning yet, infact I'm losing on my initial investments, but I'm trying to build for the future
