Splinterlands: My end Of the Season Strategic & Tactical Discoveries.

The Haste & Hesitation Towards The End

Minutes or hours to the end of the season are always the most active, this is because many players are battling to enter a league, which then increases their season rewards, others are just counting down the clock because they've already done their business two to three days before the end of the season. But why will a player stop playing two to three days before the end of the season? It's simple. The last results of your battles determines your seasons reward and not how farthest you went during the season.

Many already have a target and immediately these targets are met, they do not bother to play any more because of either losing their position or aiming to win more, but eventually losing out. One thing with splinterlands battles is that your last game isn't as good as your next game. Although you could predict your opposition by permutations from the last five to sixbattles nevertheless, there's the element of surprise that might not expect.

This was particularly me and a few players who had already stopped playing before the end of the season. Although we have some players who mostly becomes active some days to the end of the season. I feel that the rules of the game, determines the in-game behavior of almost all the players. If the rules were set to getting rewards for the farthest one gets, people would compete till the last minutes of the seasons. However, I do my business very early in the season and stop playing in other not to jeopardize my position. But it's been a season where I've played some of my most exciting battles. It's highly competitive and even when you're losing, you're learning.

The Issue With Mastering The Life Element

I've mastered almost all the element except life, the reason why I haven't mastered life is because of the life summoners at my disposal. I personally own two General Sloan and one mother Khala, the mother Khala gives one extra health and the General Sloan gives one extra range attack. People who Mostly uses these summoners plays Pelacor Arbalest, portal spinner and even add lone boatman they each have +2 speed already making them fast.

They also have +2 range attack already. So what the general Sloan does is to add an extra range attack making them have +3 range attack each. With a good mana, they're potent some of the best and whenever I play them, I usually find it hard to counter their attacks, except I'm using monsters with shields. The life element also have some speedy magic monsters with sneak and flying ability. However, I truly am not a fan of range monsters, I find it difficult to field range Monsters, plus the summoner alone isn't an encouragement.

Factors Determining My Choice Of Summoners

One of the factors that determines my choice of summoners is the summoner's ability to counter the strength, the speed and the health of my opposition. When using the water element in a high mana game, I don't fail to turn up with my Baakjira, it reduces the potency of my opponents monsters plus using the Kelya frendul gives me two additional abilities. I like using summoner that gives two additional abilities. Because the more ability you have, the more your chances are actually increased.

This isn't always the case, but it's always the case in most high profile battles. I've found out that, out of ten times I played games with 99 mana, I won 8 losing only two. This is because I'm totally unmatched in high profile battles, no matter the rules to the game. In the past, I used earth monsters, when I have +99 mana, but I have more legendaries in the water department. These legendaries in high profile games never fails to disappoint. Here's proof in this game. But then, this isn't always the case.

The Usual Rewards & Pack opening.

Not to deviate, I got x9 season's reward for being in bronze I. I'm totally looking to hit 15k collection power to get out of that League. It wasn't the most exciting of rewards, but it's part of the gathering process. I also took the opportunity to open about 7 packs. I have gotten to the limit of my pack opening. I promised myself that I'll stop opening the packs when it gets to 50. It's currently at 52, so 2 more packs to open and them I'mhodlingthe remaining ones.

I've opened over 65 packs so far and gotten some few legendaries, but my hope for a GFL never materialized, through the season, I was opening and playing. I did get some decent cards while opening. The highest valuable card I've gotten is a level three gold max paragon, with a collection power of 2.5k, although I did sell it. But it was worth it. It's the beginning of a new season, and I'll be looking to do my business very early.

The end of the season is tricky. I made it to Silver and was afraid to play more for fear of losing my position. It’s funny to stop playing a fun game, but it’s easy to lose several games in a row and suddenly your bronze!

In regards to life splinter, I am also strengthening and learning to use them. I am new, as in a few months, and I have a lot to learn.

Good Luck next season!

It's actually funny to stop playing a fun game that's why I actually think that it's going to be good to change the rules of the game because people tend to stop because of the fear of losing their position.
Yeah, so much to actually learn. Thanks and goodluck to you as well for this season..

I don't play much at the end of the season. It becomes much harder to win as everyone starts to spend on the good cards so I start losing more. Just as well though, I'm usually business with my rentals at the end.

You're right when you say the end of the season is really competitive, it's good to get one's business done early in the season. Plus players who rent great cards, show up at the end to kick other player's asses, it's actually crazy. Thanks for dropping by.

My life deck are probably the weakest because any time I must complete a quest on life deck it always a problem but still growing everyday. My season reward has been bad for the last two seasons but hoping to receive good stuff the season

Hahah I don't even play with it, it's also the weakest on my end. I think I need to get into silver III to actually get anything decent, I'll be striving for that subsequently. What league are you in, now?

God knows I read everything till the end, and I was only enjoying how far you have gone on this game but I don't understand how the magic works because I haven't played splinterlands ever... Lol.

You just keep doing your magic and gathering the packs you need for victory. Cheers. 🥂

Ha ha ha. You get to understand everything by actually starting to play. It's probably one of the most challenging blockchain game ever.

It's very challenging. You don't have to tell me. I can't see it. I mean just look at those dynamic maneuvers you guys get to bring into play for every victory. 🥺

I find that life does well if you can survive long enough. Although I have seen that life could be quite powerful if you got those beta cards to deal fast and heavy physical damage.

As for the season end, it was a bit rough for me as well. However I didn't stop fighting because my rank was fine. I did lose quite a bit more though.

Those beta cards are really fast, is just that I'm not a fan of life summoners, I guess there are better summoners in the market. It's getting fiestier.

I've heard so much about this splinters land gaming something, I would have really love to have a little experience of this just that I don't even know where to start from...

Well I didn't know where to stay from as well. Best way to log in, buy a spell book and begin to learn from the tutorials in-game and from players experience. You'll learn more by experiencing it yourself.

I also discovered this and so hrs very difficult to play on the last couple of days except you have your cards handy.

I am not so good with both life and death cards.

I prefer earth because of the magic and speed.

What league do you play?

I should have been playing in Silver III but issues with collection power. Before I open 15 to 20 more packs, I should have enough Collection power to be in silver III. But I'm playing In bronze 1.

The life deck is also my weakness, in order to finish the daily guest I have to lose a lot of points, and at the end of this season I only got five lootchest due to lack of power, as usual, the price of card rental at the end of the season, is really very high.

Currently life might be the weakest, but not with Lorna, Lorna could really boost your life deck, well at least for melee, and with the correct ruleset and lineup, life with General Sloan could be devastating with the damage that they can dish out, just make sure you buff them with speed and debuff enemies with slow 😅

I think one thing I've noticed with life is that it's got speedy and lethal range monsters. I Just had to check the Lorna and it's a beast. But beyond this you don't get anything tactical or great about life. Thanks for the curation.

It will depend on what league you are playing though, but life can be a beast splinter or just suck big time 🤣
You are welcome.

Lol I can't even win using life decks. I rarely encounter players who use it too. Mostly it's earth, fire and death I think...
