Splinterlands: My New-Found Economic & In-game Advantages.

I started playing in Silver III about two weeks ago and irrespective of the fact that my excitement might be overrated, I still think it's a nice little accomplishment for me. Firstly, my anticipation of what silver III would be like has turned out even better if I came into the silver league with so much fear and trepidation.

I trust so much in my strategies, but we all know that playing splinterlands requires an extra bit of luck. You might do everything right, but still go on to lose. You might get your strategy right, but gets hard done by an oversight that shouldn't even matter. But then, in splinterlands, the smallest of details matters, this isn't just the in-game play, but the game economics too. For example, a person might predict that holding DEC would be far lucrative than holding CREDITS.

In their rights, they've done their research and seen why this should be so, meanwhile, in the future, the economics of CREDITS might change and become even more lucrative.

Luck: Aspect Ratio

Luck plays a huge role in the in-game activities too. Inasmuch as better luck thrives on better tactics and strategies, the fact that we cannot totally prepare for every unforeseen circumstances in every situation makes Splinterlands battles a tale with a plot twist.

I have constantly lost, failed, lost again, made bad investment, made good ones, made some others which the success or failure is totally dependent on how well the economics of the game will be... futuristically. When you look at this situation, you'll realize that so many people have done the right thing by being creative with their investment, improvising on their initial choices in other to squeeze out better returns.
Now the only thing they'll need is luck is because the success they're expecting as a result of doing the right thing is not dependent on them anymore.

The Zombie League

Talking about leagues, the bronze leagues are the zombie apocalypse and this is because the league is mostly about survival, while I am happy that I'm no longer playing there, it's saddening because I'll be dropped back to Bronze I to actually continue the struggle.

However, I have qualified for Silver II, and I'm seeing this as a one time chance to get into Silver and never have to enter the bronze leagues again, but then collection power becomes a bigger obstacle in the face of growth, rather than see this as depressing, I'd rather see it as an intriguing challenge as three months ago I couldn't even get into silver III.

On a more curious note, would I still remain in silver III being that I've qualified for Silver II, but cannot get in due to CP? Because I'm thinking all that point I've accumulated without being able to break in, I'm still thinking it has to be at least relevant in deciding how far, I'll be dropped when the season ends.

The Joy Of An Extra Loot

On a brighter note then, it's been wonderful to earn +2 loot for every time I finish playing the daily quest. This time, even the reward has actually changed too. It's nice to see more meaningful reward and I guess this is why players are dropped down every end of the season.

One thing is, many players came for the game but stayed for the money, but then, then in order to make that more money, then they have to be active and contesting, playing to ensure greater rewards. This is often evident in how one or two days to the end of the season is always hectic, seriously competitive and highly tactical.

Qualifying for higher leagues means even more money. This is why I'm relishing to get even better +2 loots. It was always credits and alchemy, but here is a picture of two daily quest rewards and I think this is even better.

In a nutshell...

Having more CP is the aim. I could have easily gotten into silver II and them I, in this same season where I've been on rampage. I brought in the same mentality from the bronze leagues and I could have been forever rid of that place. Many might suggest renting, but I'm on a tight budget and can hardly afford that.

PS There are huge players in the game of which I can't even begin to equate the level of my growth with them, this might be far meaningless as well, but then it's progress, looking at how far I've been able to come.

Great post, thanks for sharing. I wish you good luck in your fights!
Unfortunately there is no saving mechanism depending on your rank, the drop is calculated on your current league. If you are in Silver 3, then you will drop to Bronze 2 I think.

PS: another hint. Try to make your header pictures with the aspect ratio 16:9. This way it will show properly in most of the cases, when it is shared (like also on Twitter)

Thank you, I was think that there was a sort of saving mechanism where it'll be possible for me to accumulate points and still stay in Silver III. Thanks for the heads-up.

Alright, I'll work on the header, makes more sense to me now.

About to get started with Splinter and wonder whether you recommend any videos or other tutorials that could help me get started on the right foot. Thanks!

Collection power is very useful for going up and it's one of the things people focus a lot on during the last few days of the season. I suggest renting out a certain portion of the cards that you are not using to earn you some extra DEC. For example, I got a ton of duplicates and some of the gold foil cards are never used because I have leveled up cards. In this case, it's better for me to rent them out for some extra revenue.

Also as a side note, don't rent out everything. If you don't have enough collection power, you will automatically lower down your rank and that is never fun.

I don't have enough collection power, so it'll be difficult for me. I have so many duplicate cards, but they're contributing to every little CP that I have, so renting comes to mind, but going even higher is the goal.

I personally think bronze is harder than silver league so I understand your plight being tumbled back to bronze on season end . My trick is to rent out a couple of gold legendary for 1 day bringing your CP into gold iii territory. Claim more chests on season end then you will be thrown back into silver 1 and away from the bronze. Rinse and repeat every season.

It's actually a great Strategy, but can you recommend the gold card I might rent and how many DEC would I pay a day to get it? Plus. Would you recommend I rent this card at the end of the season or should I rent it right away?

I am in your situation. I don't have enough CP. I want to spend all little DEC as possible to unlock the CP . So with one day remaining in the season I rent the legendary gold cards to get me unlocked for season end. The rent differs so I go to peak monsters and I spend some time sourcing the cheapest cards with the highest CP to rent. There are actual tutorials on youtube on how to rent for CP alone. You don't really care around the cards you rent in the end. It is only for 24 hours so you won't be using the rented cards much. The highest CP are legendary cards. Gold legendary level 1 for example is 12500 CP so if you get one with a high level you are talking 50,000 CP for say 400 dec for the day. That's only an example but you end up getting more loot on season end and you will be kicked back two levels sofind out how much CP it takes to get to either GOld 3 and start scouting for high CP cards to get you to that figure. Rental markets are a free for all on season end because of this reason. Hope this helps buddy.

I can't get into Gold III if I don't play, I only need enough CP to unlock silver II, and I want to be doing that the last day of the season. But yeah, I'll scout for that. I have 15k plus CP already. What I need at the moment is around 24K plus to unlock Silver II and well, thanks for your guidance. I think this actually helps a lot. I'll be aiming to get this.

That is just two level one gold legendary which will be quite cheap to pick up. Sometimes I buy make sure I go above and beyond with the CP just in case one rental decides on a rug pull before their season end. It does happen.

@blanchy and @josediccus : Check out also the auto rental-bid feature of peakmonsters. You can see there also how much the last fulfilled autobids were done for. There are some filters as well, like what bids are life, and what kind of bids were recently fulfilled.

Splinterlands is providing good earns each day if you simply complete the Daily Quests and make benefit on the Season End. If you participate also in Brawl Battles that's something on top of that and I think an areas still less known and used by most of the players.

I don't know about the Brawl Battles, it's something I've not participated in, but I'll definitely check it out sometimes. Thanks for the info

Silver league is easy but technical sometimes, good to see you in silver again. I know gradually you will acquire more CP and join the big boys in gold
