The Failed Attempt At Consistency: Here's Why You're Moving But Remains Stagnant.

Some people started here started with reading posts on how engagement and creating quality content were the key or shortcuts to making things happen for them, these types of posts made trending back then on steemit, because they were purely motivation and not realistic per se. This is because to firstly convince people to do what seems new and challenging, you have to inspire them, however, when these inspirations become bigger than their drive, it becomes impossible to actualize their initial goals.

For example, I had friends who were introduced to a job that was challenging, the job promised good pay, and they fantasized about how they'll spend the money, making less emphasis on the mental preparedness they needed to do the job. The money was a motivating factor, but the motivation they got from the money, didn't fuel their mental preparedness. So their love for the money wasn't equal to their drive for the job and they ended up stopping without even getting paid for the times they worked. What does this translate to you?

Subconsciously Reckoning With The Challenges Of Building

I know many people who started creating content on Hive with lion hearts. Their engagement level was crazy, their contents were good, they singlehandedly know every promising dolphin and prospective whale on the block, why? The motivation seemed high, they dreamed of being rich very quick and hence they put in an unbelievable level of work for a few weeks, then they crashed and burned out from all that energy.

Suddenly they're suffering writer's block, suddenly they can't engage like they used to, or they even find themselves making excuses for not being present. The reason for this is because they didn't subconsciously reckon with the fact that this process is challenging, they feel they can know everything that is there to know in two weeks, but then, it's not every effort of consistency that yields dividends. "Consistency" is an overused word. Oftentimes, it's become a cliche. Some people are busy doing things that are not tailored to be fruitful and expect the dividends to be rewarding because they're consistent, but it doesn't work that way.

Keying Into Your "Comfort Project"

The inception of different projects on the chain is meant to help people tailor their consistency into something that's prospectively rewarding over time, but this is majorly ignored because there's no 7-days window to cashing out, how so? Compounding is the best form of growth, but before you can, you need to put skin in the game and allow it to yield even if the time frame looks ridiculously slow. There are so many community projects that reward people for crowdsourcing.

A friend of mine told me about how she stopped creating content on her account to start helping a program develop their project post, while the rewards per day weren't life-changing, she could gather the rewards for a stipulated time and compounding it when it becomes bulky. Some people are part of programs, others are playing games built on the chain, and some others are being paid for being active community commentors on some communities, making it easier to tailor their consistency. However, because some others want their consistency to be instantly impactful, they end up doing everything that looks shiny and rewarding on the surface. Due to this, they end up doing everything without doing anything specific.

How To Ridiculously Burn Out

The Building process is difficult, there's nothing bad in fully reckoning with this. However, some people maintain a scope to being wrongly consistent instead of finding their safe space. There's nothing bad with being adventurous. But to be in a limitless space as Hive, a person has to be duly intentional in other to rightly compartmentalize their motivation into endeavors that naturally suit them.

Here's something exciting I learned how to play splinterlands 50% all by myself and for two reasons. First, gaming was becoming a thing. Even when I wasn't naturally the gaming type, I developed a likeness to gaming, because it was "the thing", so I made it necessary to play at least 2 games in 2022. Secondly, I wanted to improvise, blend and move with the wind of change. The state of being static births unfruitfulness. While you shouldn't try out everything at the same thing, you shouldn't also remain in one spot, move with haste, but controlled speed. This made it easy for me to stay proportionally inspired, even in the face of constant failure

Here's The Thing About Networking

Another thing people do wrong is networking. Building relationships should go beyond Hive, even the main focal point of contact is Hive. There are times people build networks and destroy them due to lack of constance. It still boils down to wanting to know everyone. At the end of the day, they end up knowing everyone, without truly connecting with anyone.

In reality, you're not meant to know everyone. When you attempt to, you are lost, being deeply rooted nowhere. Of course, the reason why this happens is because of the ridiculous aim to succeed.
Over time I've constantly stayed in touch with people I have known for Like four years now. Many people think it takes effort but it doesn't. A project like leofinance has helped me build my network base. It's easy to tailor my engagement rightly while learning about crypto and getting educated about personal finance.

It's definitely easy to burn out, especially when you deliver a lot of high-caliber content. I find myself with writers block from time to time. You have to find your balance.

Well, it's easy to burn out even more when you cannot predict an impending burn out and take a break or double down a bit. It's not easy.

Engage in the comment sections and you will have plenty to write about. Ideas flow out of the comments.

I have a pad I keep adding to. Never at a loss for ideas.

This is true. I need to keep a list of ideas. I try to just remember everything and it barely works. I do too much lol.

It is the only way. Even still, I think of something, forget to write it down, and then forget what it was. LOL

I've been trying to keep a digital sticky note on my PC but even that seems to be too much work for my short attention span to manage.

Naturally - that's the key.

I personally have to recheck myself pretty often I do it monthly now as I do get into a grove and become stagnate and don't really think of advancement. My now monthly system lets me see what worked, what didn't some new things to try and so forth which has proved to be rather effective. I think a month at least for many of the projects and things I do is needed to get enough data to see if it was or is worth it or not. We only grow and learn out of our comfort zone.

Getting revamped seems to be the principal thing as we're constantly trying to improve again and again. Trying different things also helps one to know what should eventually work out. It's a rigorous process and it takes a lot of creative process.

Easier to stay motivated when you know something is working. It gets trying when a lot of the action is wasted and toss back in your face.

Avoiding burnout is one thing we all need to take note of especially here on hive.

It's hard to know what works for you and what might not, this is different for everyone but we all have to keep moving and learning everyday. Staying stagnant is not an option

It's actually not hard to know what works for one, it just takes scrutinizing one's abilities and seeing what eventually goes.

The important thing is to have fun. Commenting is easy when you mix in some witty stuff and laugh.

It all doesnt have to be drudgery.

I sure will get used to the game after some months of consistency.

It's fun after a while but at the start, it feels like work.

It is so easy to burnout, I think I'm at that point in engaging where I have burnt out, I guess it's because most times with consistency, we push ourselves too much.

Well, there are ways to mitigate burnouts, everyone has their unique ways of actually doing it. Thanks for coming through.

I try to be consistent even if I have to lose out on a few hours of sleep. However, I really do want to start making more posts but I find it a little tedious. I just try to get my bare minimum done instead. On the other hand, I like commenting and it doesn't feel like work so its easy to get focused on that.

Well, making posts can be quite tedious especially if it's aimed at quality. Commenting is what you mostly do with actifit as well. I think it's keying into what you enjoy doing most and this has brought you recognition within the Leo community.

It's normal to burnout..... lol, since "burnout" seems like the catch phrase in the comments lemme start with that...

But for real, you're right, and I must say I don tire...I get really frustrated..and sometimes I get really happy...but then I'm getting it all wrong or maybe I'm getting it a little right..

What I've learnt is that I have to build good relationships and try to be rooted somewhere..I'll take that with me and ponder on working towards it..I've been chasing greener pastures too long forgetting that the grass around my compound too can be greener if only I water it consistently.

Great post as always ❤️

Exactly, it is real and some would not want to accept their wrakness at certain points..that is what cause the downfall of some peoples engagement on Hive, at times.

That's true bro, they just have to understand that it's ok for things to go downward sometimes...they just need to learn

People work voraciously to get to the top and luckily, they make it. But the problem is, when you get to the top, what do you do there? Do you still have the energy to keep moving or you loose all of it and fall back to the ground.

My concern is not to attain success but to maintain it.

Thank you @josediccus for your post this morning. Ever since I discovered you, I always run to your page everyday because I must learn one thing. You are too realistic and that is a beautiful thing for me.

Well done.

Some people attain diminishing returns when they get to their peak. The problem is not with getting to the top. It's actually maintaining that energy that took one there. This might be difficult except a person is motivated beyond reckoning. Thanks for always dropping by. I like your perspective towards everything.

Building relationships on hive is very important because you can't be 100% everyday, their will be some days you just have to focus on yourself alittle more and you might not be able to meet your commenting schedule or posting schedule but people that have your back will always be there and inspire to do more even when you are not at your 100%

"Consistency" is an overused word.

Honestly, I strongly agree with this. Its very overused and people use it to just mean what is not at times. The constant hammer on this word makes some people.not to accept their weakness. For example, I know I have been posting almost everyday for sometime due to no-school but just once last week, I was tired not through work but like internal weariness. @joseddicus, you know what, I left the post I was writing and went to sleep till the next morning.

I learned some new things that are embedded in that your networking side..thanks, sire. More power.

A lot of great things happening that you are now a part of if you choose to be.

Of course, I am trying to do that always such that even if I do not post, I'd engage up on other authors.

Very well, thanks for your advice. You got me all fired up again!

Engagement is key on Hive in general and Leofinance in particular. The fact that people do it once in a while is what is disheartening. You hit the nail on the head with consistency. It is the key with all on here.

I think some people just generally take their feet off the pedal and they actually don't come back from it. It's still takes a lot to be consistent. Thank you Task, you keep motivating.

This is food for my soul today.
The word 'consistency' really is overused and misunderstood. Assuming that being consistent in what you do is all about getting returns is flawed thinking. One's thought process, as you have made clear, is to take something that's tailored to be fruitful, employ ways to stay motivated, and then stay consistent and pull through the highs and lows.
Another that hit me is knowing people vs connecting with them. I have learned now to find good communities for myself and fix myself in them alongside building good networking.
Thank you for sharing this @josediccus.
Looking forward to more of your insights as always...
