A los caracoles y babosas, se les llama moluscos.
¿Que es un molusco?
Un molusco significa carecer de huesos, y de esqueleto interno.
En pocas palabras no tienen nada de huesos, ni esqueletos, ni patas.
¿Cómo caminan los caracoles?
Ellos se mueven por una serie de contracciones musculares ondulatoria que recorren la cara inferior del pie, cuentan con un deslizamiento firme y seguro.

Los caracoles se caracterizan principalmente por su concha en forma de espiral, ellos sin esa casita que llevan sobre ellos, no pueden vivir, esa casita es muy importante, allí es donde lleva todos sus órganos, y también es donde conserva el aire que respira.
Estos caracoles no beben agua como otros animales, si no que se desplazan sobre superficies húmedas, para absorber através de su parte inferior de su cuerpo.
Estos caracoles de tierra se alimentan de vegetales, y frutas como:

¿Cuánto puede dormir un caracol?
Un caracol de tierra puede llegar a dormir hasta tres años, dependiendo la temperatura donde estén, si es en lugares de desiertos ellos se encierran en su caparazón y permanecen allí varios años.
Aqui en mi estado guarico, cómo hay invierno y verano.
Ellos en la época de verano permanecen dormidos en su caparazón.
En la época de invierno salen, por la cuestión de que hay plantas verdes, frutos, agua en abundancia y sobre todo que es una época más fresca del año.
