My baby's first haircut

Hello hivers, welcome back to my blog

I think it is safe to say "how time flies". Was it not just yesterday that my baby was born? Well, she turned one some days ago and hubby felt it was time to give her her first hair cut today. Before now, we had talked about it and we decided we would shave off everything because the hair wasn't growing properly. Her hair was growing in the middle and it didn't look nice at all. I have made some attempts to plait her hair to see if it would grow but to no avail.

So the next option which we felt was a good one was to cut it so that the new hair can grow very well. Truly, sometimes some things are best when they are said but when it comes to action, it is usually difficult. I have had mixed feelings all these while on this issue. Partly because I didn't know how my little princess will react when the clipper touches her head. I was scared and happy at the same time.

Anyway we set out to the barbing salon to get it all done and dusted. My husband carried her so that the barber can do his work. When the clipper was turned on, she shook a bit. But she didn't cry. Wow! My baby is a big girl you know. I was surprised because I was expecting her to cry down the building. But she didn't even bulge. She was calm. Her dad turned on her favorite cocomelon children rhymes and she was just excited watching it from his phone. I guess that was the trick. Even the barber was happy at her composure.

We were done and my baby was happy too. She looked really different and became more beautiful in my eyes. I don't if it is a general feeling but ever since I became a mother, I have become more emotional than before. Every little thing triggers me and I don't know if its a good or bad thing by the way. I tend to put myself in every situation and even end up making excuses for that situation.

So we got home and my baby had a warm bath. I couldn't help but applaud her with some biscuits and juice. She really amazed me with her boldness. I was expecting to see a cry baby but she outdid herself and stayed calm. To add, the barber didn't collect a dime from us. He said it was the first time he was seeing a baby excited to cut her hair without giving him troubles. He said before now, they will sing and dance to make the baby calm. But my baby was different and he couldn't help but reward her by not letting us pay for her hair cut.

Dear moms and dads, how did you feel the first time you cut your baby's hair? Did your baby cry? What did you do to calm him or her?

Thank you for reading and see you again in my next article

All pictures are mine and taken with my phone.
