Positive Hunch

Sometimes when we do stuff, we need to be conscious of the fact that somehow, people are watching. What happened today just shows that whatever work you do, you need to put in your very best. This is so because you don't know when your breakthrough will come. Or let's say you don't know your exact work that will bring you to limelight.

So this morning, I decided to visit the office for the first time since this year. Even though I could do all my work from home, I just had this feeling that would go away. The feeling was pushing me to go to the office. I got dressed and drove to the office. On my way, I got a call. Usually, I don't take calls while driving. But the call was persistent. I had to pull off and take it.

The caller asked if I was in the office as he was almost close to my office. I told him I was on my way and would be there in 30 minutes.

When I got to the office, I met some policemen in the compound. I was a bit scared but I held myself and walked up to one of the security men. I inquired if there was a problem and the reason they were here. He said his boss was here to see someone. I didn't ask further. I went into the office.

I was shocked to find out that it was the unknown caller that came with his aides. My heart was beating really fast. I walked into my office and sat on my chair. I requested that the unknown caller come into my office. He came and asked if I was the one he spoke to. I affirmed and he said I was recommended by someone whom I haven't spoken to before in my life. She happened to be a church member who knew me from afar.

Wow. I froze from some minutes because the whole scenario was just like a movie. Now this guy that came to visit is a commissioner for special duties. A high ranked government official. He wanted me to do a jingle for him. He was impressed at my voice and pronunciation too. We sealed a deal and he paid twice of what I charged.
He said he did that because he wanted to encourage me. I love this kind of encouragement by the way.

I had a good day today. His work is ready by the way. I am glad I obeyed my little mind. So I am just wondering, what if when I had the hunch to go to my office, I ignored the voice? Would I have been this lucky? And to even think that someone whom I don't even know and have never talked to, recommended me is just a big lesson that people are really watching indeed.

If I was a troublesome girl or maybe someone who is very proud, I am not sure I would have gotten that recommendation.

I am glad my day ended well. One deal sealed and delivered. The month is looking good already.
