Bagnini from Rimini! # 4 - The children's park and the Game of Bocce.
And I continue with the series about the Bagnini from Rimini. Already in the previous entries of the series I have been telling about what is done at the beginning of the summer season, especially the heavier work. When all the centers for the beach umbrellas are finished, other things have to be finished that have more to do with the recreation of those who come to enjoy the services of the beach.
In this chapter I will talk about the setup of the children's park and the ground for playing Bocce.
The children's park has several things to setup, the most complicated being the trampolines to jump. They are two of the fairly large models that require time to assemble.
Three of us did the work and it took us almost two days to set up the entire park, especially because the first day it rained at times and we couldn't work continuously.
As I said before, what took us the most time were the two trampolines. They both have huge tubes, pads and safety nets everywhere. It is to be used only by children up to 11 years of age, so safety is the most important thing.
Firstly, the structure is assembled with the tubes. And I don't know why I couldn't find the other photos of the trampoline assembly process on my phone... I only found this one. 😬
Then, what is the trampoline as such is attached to the metal structure with enormous springs. The springs are placed one by one and alternately.
The process is finished by putting the pads and safety nets.
Another thing that took us a bit of time was enlarging the playing field for Bocce.
And what is the game of Bocce?
It is a very old game. It is said that the Egyptians already played something similar, but where was born the one which is currently played, was in the Roman Empire. And it was internationalized by Italian emigrants in various countries of the world in the seventeenth century. Today it is a recognized game with clubs and championships.
It is considered a "cousin" of the game of marbles and consists of two teams of two people each and who play with 4 large balls each team (for a total of 8 balls) and a small ball called Pallino in Italian.
It is decided which team comes out first with a coin and the team that wins the toss rolls the Pallino first. Then the two teams with the big balls must try to get as close as possible to the Pallino. The team that manages to put the big ball closest wins 1 point.
On each beach in this area there is a field to play Bocce. Here is a tradition.
We are almost ready to start the summer season, now all that remains is for the heat to begin and, with it, the guests to arrive at the beach.
