You're right about this and it feels rather unending.
My secret to life is to simplify everything. Keeping life simple and not being dragged by my senses into needing too much to be happy, allows me to keep the demands to a minimum. It's relatively easy here in South Africa to live a happy, healthy and comfortable life without requiring too much material facility as a single guy. If you have a wife and kids however, you may be obliged to work so much harder to maintain your household, in which case your later years may be the chance to simplify and find inner contentment.
