A Glimpse Into The Engagement Levels Of ASEAN Hive Community VIPs 🔬 What's Your Comment to Post Ratio? 🙋♂️
A couple weeks ago @acidyo released a post titled "What's your comment to post ratio like?," Curious of my own comment/post ratio, I went to HiveBuzz to get the numbers, and discovered that my number is 28.26.
🤷♂️ Why Is This Statistic Important? ⌨️
The importance of engagement on Hive can't be understated. In my opinion, the easiest way is to think about this is by imagining how many genuine comments you would like to see on each of your posts.
For me, I'd love to have at least 10 comments on every post, so I've always aimed to read, comment, and vote on 10 posts per day, because if everyone did that, we could all mathematically have 10 genuine comments on each of our posts. In addition to this, I also respond to all my comments, and I read every single post in the ASEAN Hive Community, and I leave a longform comment, no "nice post" or "good work" junk comments.
Well, I guess this is how I arrive at my comment to post ratio, which is 28.26, surprisingly the highest among all ASEAN HIVE VIPs. Of course it's not a competition, but just imagine all we Hivers published a post a day, only responded to comments, and didn't engage with anyone else's content.........Hive would be an echo chamber. I don't think anyone wants to post to the void for the love of game, so that's why engagement matters so much, and it's what will keep this platform sustainable, as well as the ASEAN Hive Community.
What's An ASEAN Hive Community VIP?
Anyone that delegates 50 HP or more to the @asean.hive curation account is given the title ASEAN HIVE VIP, simple enough. There are various levels of VIPs, just a form of gamification I've added to the community to keep things entertaining and encourage more delegations.
As long as VIPs maintain post quality and stay engaged with other Hivers, they are eligible for bigger upvotes as well as automatically being registered for the daily delegator raffles. Here's the current level system:

ASEAN Hive VIP 🥈 SILVER | 100 HP to 999 HP
ASEAN Hive VIP 🥉 BRONZE | 50 HP to 99 HP

I promised some new things for the community when we reach a collective 50,000 HP for curation, and although we haven't reached this goal, I'll be rolling out some kind of a challenge and rewards system exclusively for ASEAN HIVE VIPs very soon. I decided it would be cool to involve the comment to post ratio somehow, so I went ahead and made a table to chart all of you VIPs in order of highest "engagement ratio," what I've dubbed this statistic.
Of course this doesn't account for super short spammy comments like I mentioned earlier, and hopefully there will be an update which allow me access to stats like "average comment word count," something that would be cool to factor into a challenge of some kind.

Until I flesh out a template for a new community challenge post, I would like to congratulate the following ASEAN Hivers in order of highest engagement ratio:

If anyone makes it in the top 5 from simply commenting "nice post" a hundred times a day, that person would definitely be excluded, but for now I have to manually check. I would also like to have access to narrow these statistics to the ASEAN Hive Community instead of Hive. However, being engaged as a whole, regardless of which community, is much more important.

With help from #ecency, it's easier to achieve more with "more". The more comment one make via eCency, the more engagement point he will get.
My case is, I get a better ratio recently as I slowed down my number of posts. As long I keep on making shit post, I think I will be able to bring down my ratio again 🤣
I've almost reached 2,000 Ecency Points, been trying to do all my commenting and voting from within. I hope to use these for a weekly challenge of some kind, but for now still pondering ideas.

Can be done with BOOSTING comment option. I did that with my previous engagement post. Say the first 5 most intriguing comment of the week get boosted with 150points?
This is one option I have been considering, using the points to boost featured comments in the weekly ASEAN Hive Engagement post. I think between my personal account and the curation account, plus my family donating their points, we could probably even use them for another challenge as well.

looks like i am going to have to start to pump my numbers! I haven't been very active lately. I'll try to change that.
Of course no pressure on anyone, I just like dreaming of gamification ideas to increase the community' s value. We still don't have any official whale support because we are "too general," but somehow we hover around the 25th most rewarded community per post on Hive.
I think we've got lightning in a bottle with this community, and it's a combination of delegations (thanks for your huge one), engagement, and quality content that causes curators from outside the community to use ASEAN Hive Community to find content.
You're a big part of why this community has come so far so fast. You've been around since the early days, and just you alone with your high rep score and good post payouts, choosing to post inside the this community when you could've posted elsewhere, caused a lot of other Hivers to follow suit.
When I am back in Cambodia, the increased economic freedom and freetime will allow me to put much greater efforts into this community. I think we're going to try and settle in the Veal Veng area, just a few minutes across the border from where Trat is in Thailand. Who knows, when the 'rona stops running the world, would be really to cool link up, perhaps even an ASEAN Hive Community summit some day.

I saw strange wallet activity between your account, @muaynoi, and @paopaoza. If you are three different people or not, I am not sure, but your content is all very similar, and two accounts are in constant powerdown. To me it looks like multiple accounts created to abuse posting rewards.
None of the accounts have an intro post or proof of brain of any kind. In order to be unmuted, I would need a very good explanation, posting from multiple accounts to maximize rewards is frowned upon.

All 3 accounts, one of my sister's. pao paoza account section I have put the power down because I want to close my account. in order to use only one new account Out of my ignorance, I tried the account to post before I closed the old one. Does your sister know that you are are powering down her account and sending the funds to your two accounts? I think she wouldn't be very happy about that. She seems to know her way around Hive very well, I can't imagine she wouldn't know how to power down her account by herself.
The whole things seem shady, and neither of the three profiles have ever made an #introduceyourself post. For me, I would like to see an #introduceyourself post from both you and your sister, something you both have never taken the time to do in all the years on Hive/Steemit.
For proof of brain, I'd want to see you holding a piece of paper with your Hiver username on it, along with the date, and the same for your sister too. I honestly don't feel comfortable curating anyone that's never done an intro post, that is one of the biggest signs of farming accounts.

This is one of the greatest thing about being on Asean Hive. I thin it is truly important to read and comment a post while also writing out own post. Hahaha.. I am on that list.. wahaha.. Sometimes, I get too busy but whenever I have time, I will take a bit of time to write replies.. and comment.
It is just like a neighbourhood. In one of the neighbourhoods here in the city, no one greets one another. The whole neighbourhood is gated and driving in, It almost look haunted. Probably those wealthy folks sit inside watching tv, doing mask. =) Have a great day and thank you very much.
That is exactly how I feel, and by that logic there are a lot of haunted communities on Hive. We may not be the highest rewarded community, but being ranked around the 25th spot is pretty good considering we lack large numbers and large HP for curation, so there is another reason we sit in the 25th spot. I think it's because we are like a village and we take time to comment and interact with each other.
Any new strange faces in the village are greeted warmly but also researched thoroughly. When I seem someone post in ASEAN Hive that has been on the blockchain posting for 5+ years almost daily, but hasn't made a single comment since 2018, those folks are muted immediately, but most communities don't take time to weed out Hivers like this.
Maybe we can petition Hive to allow ASEAN Hive Community to become the first village on Hive. Perhaps there could be suburbs, communities, and villages on Hive 😁......
Hi hi Justin.. yea.. I do agree.. haunted and left abandoned.. villages... deep in the abyss.. I think being the 25th is pretty good.. There are so many communities and being 25 is definitely great. Asean Hive will definitely be growing going forward. I think being a village is great too.. more close knit and we seem to know who all the members are.
All villages will one day grow into big cities some day. I guess it is better to grow slowly than to speed up the growth.
It is good to see daily progress made on Asean Hive with timely updates and plans. I think we could petition for villages, suburbs too other than communities. Can't wait for the exciting things that are coming to Asean Hive. =)
