πŸ’ Dreamin' Of The Future In Cambodia (Together Again) πŸ›Ίβ›Ί

In addition to the lack of fruits and vegetables, Suriname now has no propane for cooking, plus our apartment rarely has running water.

DREAMIN' πŸ’

Β  Β  Β All these various hardships have caused us to long for Cambodia, and now that US Immigration is indefinitely delayed, a family separation in November is imminent. We've previously been separated for nearly a half year due to visa issues, and I promised I would never let that happen again.

Β  Β  Β Well, it looks like I'll be eating my words very soon, but the conditions have become so unlivable here in Suriname that @sreypov and I are actually okay with this (hopefully short) temporary separation imposed by bureaucrats. At this point, a few months apart in order to live a live filled with happiness, fresh food, and local economic spending power, is a price we're willing to pay.

Β  Β  Β We've been spending our last days in Suriname not thinking about how bad our separation will be, but instead thinking of the brand new Piaggio Ape we will buy, and all of the adventures and camping trips we will do with our new wheels. The happiest we have ever been is when we have no schedule, a tank full of gas, an open road, and a tuk-tuk full of food and camping equipment.

It seems Suriname and its economy, food chain, and many other parts of the country are a rollercoaster ride. The only thing we can count is food will be more expensive each week. I hope things get better soon and/or we can escape this country to familiar territory like SE Asia.

It's funny how you say the people you know never look at your blog. I have the same thing. I tell them to check it out but they won't ever dare. Even if I send them a link, it's radio silence. These are people who ask what I've been up to. The real close ones never ever look. I can say anything about anyone of them and they would never know.

I am gut wrenched at the thought of your separation but it's so understandable to want to get to higher ground any way that you can. Your kids need a real home and you guys are sacrificing a little time together for a future of brightness. I respect your courage.

We are now collecting survival gear in case poop hits the fan which it looks like it may. In case it gets Australian on us. But I hope we won't need it, just as I hope there will be a miracle for you guys to remain together at the last minute. Miracles can happen. Either way I wish you all to be divinely compensated for all the years trapped in the weirdest coldest at heart, yet hot, place ever.

Peace to you all!

Those non-blog reading family and friends aren't in touch with my family's concerns and struggles like our Hive friends for these reasons. We are not happy about our separation, which does seem very likely now, but we are overjoyed at the chance of being able to reclaim our Cambodian way of life.

Soon we'll be on the open road in Cambodia with a tuk-tuk full of camping gear and food, and so far that is the closest thing to home we've experienced. Being able to share these adventures with Hive and earn some crypto is something we haven't experienced yet, can't wait to flesh this out.

I noticed that while I was listening to the video after I had already uploaded it to 3Speak. Since a 15-minute video takes a 1/4 of a day to upload, I had to send it out to the Hive-o-sphere with this imperfection, although my intent was not to scare your pee hole. Well, if it's any consolation, it scared the hell out of me too πŸƒ.

I promised I would never let that happen again.

So tragic man. But at least you can say that you did literally everything in your power to make sure this wouldn't happen. Let's hope some good luck comes your way and it will be as brief as possible.

So far we're banking on Pov being able to register a business of some kind, likely a translation/dispute mediation service. This will give us good reason to maintain no commercial address and require fewer licenses than most retail businesses. If things go as planned, it should take around 2 months from start to finish, not ideal but acceptable given the circumstances we are currently living under. 🀞

It will be sweet story in the end. I am sure that your life will be getting better in Cambodia with your potential of your hive earning. You can start offline business in your wife homeland.

I am already dreaming of business ideas, and we are actually considering opening up a blogging after school program where we teach Hive, crypto, English, photography, and computer skills. It would be nice to see Cambodians able to earn a better income by working at home than traveling hours to a Chinese factory each day, where both the job and commute are dangerous.
