Today, I was left with no choice than to go get myself a new smartphone since the one I had previously got bad. I've been able to survive pretty well without a smartphone in the last three (3) weeks. It's just that I've been missing out from a lot of information that is being circulated on my class group online via WhatsApp. Although @shamzy do give me a call in order to keep me updated. But we have been asked to resume lectures online today so it wouldn't really be easy for me to partake in the online classes if I don't have a smartphone of my own. So I decided to go pick up a UK used 2017 model Samsung (A5 2017) at computer village, Ikeja Lagos earlier today.

I did get a smartphone in a good, perfect working condition. I got home and finished setting up the phone, installed the important Apps I needed which also included WhatsApp. Lo and behold, I had lot of messages lined up to go through. Some important, some not important. I was on WhatsApp replying, sending, and receiving messages for over four (4) hours straight. I needed to attend to other things but I was so glued to my phone that I didn't realize a lot of time had gone by. It was until I got extremly hungry before I interrupted myself and dropped my phone to go eat dinner.

As I ate my dinner, I realize my greatest distraction is back once again. As useful as our smartphones can be, they can also be a source of distraction. Well, I'll only allow myself get distracted by my smartphone just for this week 😀 and afterwards, I'd switch back to my do not disturb mode. It really does help me to stay focused even when I choose to use my phone to carry out another task. You should try doing the same too if notifications from your smartphone would distract you when trying to do something else.
