Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (ENG/ESP)

There are some movies that when they end, you are left in silence thinking for a long time, impacted by the plot, the story and the message they infer. This happened to me when I finished watching Perfume, the movie I have the immense pleasure of talking about today.
I knew the perfume through a book that a friend sent me, I had not yet dared to read it and I tried to find an audio book, but I found the movie and it caught my attention. I had no idea what it was about, so the story shocked me a little bit, but in spite of this I liked it a lot.
Perfume, a film directed by the German Tom Tykwer, and starring the actor Ben Whishaw and other excellent actors like Dustin Hoffman, takes place in France in the XVIII century, a hostile time, with a deplorable quality of life, the smell that came from the streets and markets seem terrible. That is why for the upper class a good perfume was something very important, as it was the way in which they could distinguish themselves from others. In the midst of this, Jean Baptiste was born with a highly developed sense of smell but with a peculiarity that frightened others, he did not emanate odor but could recognize any object, substance, person from miles away.
Existen algunas películas que cuando terminan, te quedas en silencio pensando un buen rato, impactados por la trama, la historia y el mensaje que infieren. Esto justamente me pasó cuando termine de ver El perfume, la película de la cuál tengo el inmenso placer de hablarles hoy.
Conocí el perfume a través de un libro que me envió una amiga, aún no me había animado a leerlo e intente buscar un audio libro, pero encontré la película y me llamo la atención. No tenía ni idea, de que trataba, así que la historia choco un poco dentro de mí, pero a pesar de esto me gusto bastante.
El perfume una película dirigida por el alemán Tom Tykwer , y con el protagonismo del actor Ben Whishaw y otros excelentes actores como , Dustin Hoffman se desarrolla en la Francia del XVIII, una época hostil, con una calidad de vida deplorable, el olor que provenía de las calles y los mercados parecen terribles. Es por esto que para la clase alta un buen perfume era algo muy importante, pues era como la forma en que podían distinguirse de los demás. En medio de esto nace Jean Baptiste con un sentido del olfato muy desarrollado pero con una peculiaridad que asustaba a los demás no emanaba olor pero podía reconocer cualquier objeto, sustancia, persona desde kilómetros de distancia.
Alguna vez te has imaginado que harías o que serias capaz de hacer si tuvieses alguno de tus sentidos muy desarrollados?
Jean Baptiste dealt with the gift of smell and it was like his only blessing because his childhood was very precarious, but at the same time this gift condemned him, because one day he perceived a smell that made him fall in love with it, so much that he wanted to keep it forever and his life since then will never be the same. His obsession for this smell led him to commit atrocious acts. The actor's work is excellent, he manages to personify someone very peculiar, somewhat withdrawn, mysterious and disturbed, the character is indolent to the crimes and in some parts of the plot it seems that he does not recognize good from evil or that he justifies his crimes with his need to create the best perfume in history.
Jean baptiste lidio con el don del olfato y fue como su única bendición pues su infancia fue muy precaria, pero al mismo tiempo este don lo condeno, pues un día percibió un olor que lo enamoro , tanto que quería conservarlo para siempre y su vida desde entonces jamás será la misma. Su obsesión por este olor lo llevo a cometer actos atroces. El trabajo del actor es excelente logro personificar a alguien muy peculiar, algo retraído, misterioso y perturbado, el personaje se muestra indolente ante los crímenes y en algunas partes de la trama pareciera que no reconociera el bien del mal o que justificara sus delitos con su necesidad de crear el mejor perfume de la historia.
The end of the story is surprising because it shows how sometimes the human being is carried away by passion and the senses, it was so important for the people of that time the smell that they let themselves be dominated by it and end up worshiping the one who caused them so much pain.
This story tells the life of Jean Baptiste in an excellent way, but it also shows the reality of the time, how hard life can be for someone, how sad and dangerous abandonment and loneliness can be.
Some scenes are strong and somewhat repulsive, but beyond the story the production work in general is impeccable, the way they tell the story, the music, the scenery and the characters combine perfectly and make you want to watch the movie until the end.
For those who haven't seen the movie I totally recommend it, it's a different, disturbing and quite interesting story. I am now quite excited to finish reading the book and I also found out about a netflix miniseries inspired by this passionate story that I hope to see soon.
El final de la historia sorprende porque muestra como a veces el ser humano, se deja llevar por la pasión y los sentidos, era tan importante para las personas de esa época el olor que se dejaron dominar por este y terminan adorando a quien les causo tanto dolor.
Esta historia narra la vida de Jean Baptiste de una forma excelente, pero también muestra la realidad de la época, lo duro que puede llegar a ser la vida para alguien, lo triste y peligroso que puede llegar a hacer el abandono y la soledad.
Algunas escenas son fuertes y un tanto repulsivas, pero más allá de la historia el trabajo de producción en general es impecable, la forma en que narran la historia, la música, el escenario y los personajes compagina perfectamente y hacen que quieras ver la película hasta el final.
Para quienes no han visto la película la recomiendo totalmente, es una historia, diferente, perturbadora y bastante interesante. Ahora estoy bastante emocionada por terminar de leer el libro y también me entere de una miniserie de netflix inspirada en esta apasionada historia que espero ver pronto.

Recuerdo que ví esta película cuando era una niña pequeña y se quedó en mi memoria por la escena del gato, no recordaba mucho más que eso. La segunda vez, ya grande, intenté verla pero creo que no pude llegar al final por problemas 'tecnicos' y si es que llegué hasta allá, no lo recuerdo. (Tengo muy mala memoria).
Lo que sí es que esta historia está muy fresca en mi mente porque leí el libro y vaya, vaya, qué pulcritud de narración y que trama más fascinante. Creo que fue el primer libro que leí como tal y me fascinó, que mal que no lo hayas leído 😢
La película debe ser muy buena por sus actuaciones y otros detalles, aunque de por sí esta magnífica historia hace casi todo el trabajo.

Si aún no termino de leerlo, pero tienes razón la narración es perfecta tiene muchos detalles, que te puedes imaginar el escenario fácilmente, espero culminarlo pronto. La Historia es demasiado interesante, creo que a nadie mas que al autor pudo ocurrirse algo así.
