Prisoners of the Ghostland

In the treacherous frontier city of Samurai Town, a ruthless bank robber is sprung from jail by wealthy warlord The Governor, whose adopted granddaughter Bernice has gone missing. The Governor offers the prisoner freedom in exchange for retrieving the runaway. Strapped into a leather suit that will self-destruct within five days, the bandit sets off on a journey to find the young woman and his path to redemption. This is the Real Synopsis not on the DVD Cover found on PRESEARCH

Prisoners of the ghostland is arguably the worst Nicolas Cage Movie I have ever had the displeasure to watch, in fact it was that bad I had to turn it off halfway through.

Reading the Synopsis you might ne mistaken for believing this might be another action filled story from one of Hollywood's legendary actors, but what follows is a terribly bad made movie, shoddy graphics and very bad acting and directing.

It's not very often I give a movie or series such a bad review, but I owe it to the readers to be brutally honest. It just wouldn't be fair to lie and show a false enthusiasm for something so bad.

Ha ha you would probably never read my reviews again if I did.

MY CONCLUSION

In my opinion the movie was cheaply made and rushed, it could have been so much better giving it had a well placed cast and a reasonably good storyline that could have been so much better if done right with time, I got the feeling it was churned out to fill the void of good movies this year, which has been bad for the movie industry overall.

You know I really liked Nicolas Cage as an actor in some of his early films but having seen a fair few of his films over time, I have started to wonder after a while if he was a bit of a one-trick pony. He is no longer a drawcard for me in films sadly. As usual, you write good reviews Jaxson @keltickings :-) What are your thoughts on Cage as an actor generally? Favourite Cage film? !PIZZA

I loved Cage in some of his earlier movies like Conair, or Face off unfortunately some of his recent work leaves a lot to be desired, as I stated in this review, I was seriously disappointed I could say the same about Bruce Willis of late in films like Apex and Fortress, which I couldn't honestly even put my thoughts into words they were so bad If I was to choose one of the two mentioned I would probably pick Face off because of the dialogue and plot.

In saying that I have noticed that many actors and actresses of late have taken parts in really bad movies, I don't know if this is because of the current covid situation, lack of opportunities in the entertainment industry or for other reasons. i.e Bad decisions

Yes actually covid of course! But Face off, City of Angels, and Next were my faves ...but also great story lines....and then...meh...yeah I loved Bruce in Die Hard and The Whole 9 yards...in fact I used to love him in Moonlighting on telly... gosh that was a long time ago haha...flashback just happened...him and Cybil Shepherd. I loved that show when I was younger. You do really write great cinetv reviews! !PIZZA !ALIVE

I was only thinking I need to start writing more of them Today believe it or not, well for a few days to be honest but I have been pre-occupied with the punk phenomena ha ha

I have watched a few really good films and show recently and need to find a little time to bang them out, Cine is still one of my favourite front ends and I really enjoy reading about new stuff, I really need to get myself back into that routine I had before Xmas, I will of course hopefully in the coming days
