The Play2Earn Report - Week 05/2023
I was visiting my parents this weekend and got home a little later than I expected. With my Brawl still not played and some other stuff I had to finish first, I sadly didn't find the time to write my usual Play2Earn Report in time. While it's not ideal for comparability, I don't think it's a huge issue either, so I'll just post it a day late. This also means that most of this weekends Hive pump has already faded again as well, so by submitting late I might even get a more realistic picture than what I would have gotten back on Sunday morning. So without further ado, here are the numbers for the week:
|Asset||Amount||Dollar Value per Unit||Total Dollar Value||Change|
|Chaos Legion Packs||15||2.66||39.9||+14.16|
|Asset||Amount||Dollar Value per Unit||Total Dollar Value|
Now these are some really good numbers for the week, almost $21,500 up across both accounts. Guess it's time to think about buying an island again!
Well, probably not, but it's certainly looking good right now. It remains to be seen how lasting these increases are and with a lot of the increase coming from land, there's still a lot we do not know that makes it pretty hard to really estimate what my plots should be worth. Nevertheless, things are really looking good in the world of Splinterlands right now. I totally love the change to soulbound reward cards and the sale of DECB should start in just two days. While it probably won't have a super large immediate effect, it should take at least 1 billion of liquid DEC out of circulation, leaving us with maybe 2 billion that are reasonable liquid. Also, if the first sale is really successful, we might see another round of DECB, which should get us even closer to peg.
Incidentally, this Wednesday is also when the second phase of the Genesis League Goals presale is going live:
Alongside that, we should also see the introduction of burning GLX for GLUSD and possible also the ability to trade GLGT over at Hive-Enginge. To be clear, I don't expect much to happen because of that, at least not initially. But there's that potential, that looming possibility. The order book for GLX is really thin and it doesn't take much to push it either way. There could be some shenanigans with people trying to pump the price to burn GLX for GLUSD at the right moment. I won't keep any GLX liquid but I'll keep my eyes open for opportunities if they come up. Anyway, I feel like this is going to be a really exciting year for Genesis League and while there are no guarantees for anything, I have that feeling that this part of my portfolio could play a way more prominent role rather soon.
In other news, I've switched from playing in Wild over to Modern for now. The reason is rather simple - there are a lot less people competing in Wild and they are, on average, a lot harder at the same rating than what you find in Modern. That obviously also means that I'm earning less SPS per battle, but I'm getting tons of SPS from other sources anyway and for now, ranked is the only way to get the new reward cards, so that's my priority for now. Talking of earning a lot of SPS, Summoners Tribe finally managed to gather enough Crowns to upgrade our Arena to lvl 9. That means that we are now eligible to play in the Tier 5 Brawl:
The cool thing about that is that we are the only ones up there right now. So when the Brawl starts, we'll be moved back down to tier 4, but we will also receive these 12,251 SPS as a bonus split among all guild members. With 30 people in the guild, that's roughly 410 SPS for each of us... on top of what we are earning from the actual tier 4 Brawl - which should be another 300+ SPS. Since both Neoxian and Immortal Gods will still need about 5 Brawl cycles before they are ready for Tier 5 as well, that means that we are actually earning more than 2,000 SPS per player as a bonus for reaching Tier 5 first. Pretty awesome in my book!
All in all, things are really looking up right now. It's still a long time until we will see another real bull run, but the current high both proves that there's still live in the ecosystem and also makes surviving so much easier for the ecosystem. It's still a rough ride ahead, but I intend to enjoy every piece of the journey!
And that's all from me for today, thank you all for reading and see you next time!
