Ecology is a branch of biology, which deals with the relationship between living organisms and their external environment. It is divided into two main branch:Autecology and synecology.
∆AUTECOLOGY
It deals with the study of individual organism and it's environment. e.g study of a specific Goat in relation to its college environment.
∆SYNECOLOGY
It deals with the study of the inter-relationship,between groups of organisms living in an area.e.g study of all organisms in its college environment.

TERMS USED IN STUDY OF ECOLOGY.
∆HABITAT
Is a particular area occupied by an organism.it's divided into 2 form: -Terrestrial habitat
-Aquatic habitat.
∆COMMUNITY
Is a place where different group of organism, live and interact together.e.g a Forest.
∆ECOSYSTEM
Is a community of plant and animal, functioning with their living and non-living factors together in an environment.
∆POPULATION
Is the total number of organisms of some specie, living together at a given area,at a particular time.eg.total number of tilapia fish in a pond.
∆ENVIRONMENT
Is all the factors both living and non-living, external and internal that affect organisms,is the total surrounding of an organism.
∆ATMOSPHERE
Is the gaseous portion of the Earth.A portion that permits the existence of humans, non-living and other living things.it contains 78%Nitrogen,21% Oxygen,0.3%Carbondioxide,and 0.97% inert gases.
The above-mentioned terms are used in studying health ecology.
