El Chapo’s wife will be pleading guilty for Helping Her Husband Run His Drug Empire

El chapo whose real name is Joaquín Archivaldo Guzmán Loera is a notorious drug lord who was convicted in 2019 and serving sentence in one of the most secured prison in the United state.

His wife , Emma Coronel Aispuro is expected to plead guilty after taken into custody in February at an airport. It’s usually unlikely for the law enforcement to go after relatives of drug lords but her own case is different because she is likely to be an accomplice.

There were reasonable evidence showing that she is an accomplice to the drug lord’s operations. This investigation has been on going for nearly two years. She is a US-Mexican citizen former beauty queen and her family has had stories in the past related to drug trade.

She has also helped him break out of prisons in the past. Initially , she had been charged with facing 10 years to life in prison. But her cooperation with the government will enable her serve a far lesser time .
