Russia's "protégée": Kamila Valieva still without sanctions || La "protegida" de Rusia: Kamila Valieva aún sin sanción

Kamila Valieva again

A few months ago I wrote a post talking about Kamila Valieva. At that time I introduced Kamila and the decision of the International Skating Federation to raise the minimum age to be able to compete in the adult category in skating. The link to the post is here if you want to read it.

This decision was "supposedly" taken in order to protect the younger skaters, as we saw Valieva fall up to three times and end up in tears at the end of the competition; supposedly because of the pressure she was under.

The first woman to do a quadruple jump at the Olympics, which is no small feat at her young age, the Russian is undoubtedly a gem in the making.

However, no matter how good you are at sport, doping can end your career in a second and you can go from being acclaimed by thousands to being hated in the blink of an eye.

Nobody wants to follow cheaters, or have them as idols, we saw it in the case of Lance Armstrong, who went from being an example of overcoming to being the biggest cheater in the history of sport.

Returning to Kamila, I had already said that the girl has delighted the skating world, because it is undeniable that she is very good and has conditions of a really great athlete, she has the opportunity to improve because at her young age she is already one of the best skaters.

But everything seems to have come down to Kamila after testing positive for banned substances, as it has been put in the eye of the hurricane and it is very difficult to get out of this situation.

Valieva's case has been handled under absolute secrecy by the Russian authorities (what a strange truth) as they have refused to make public any resolution of this case. I think it is obvious that they do not want to make public any resolution, as it is evident of the systematic plan to improve their athletes under not allowed substances.

Rusada, which is Russia's state doping agency, has refused to make public any ruling, on the grounds that Valieva is a "Protected Figure" so they will not make public any verdict in this case.

As such this position of a Russian state agency does not surprise me at all, not even a little, as there is no decency in Russian culture, no principles and no values.

All the time they have been trying not to blame Valieva on the grounds that the girl mistook the drug or that it could have been some kind of carelessness, as if this would lower the seriousness of the matter.

The USADA, the United States anti-doping agency, has been tougher in this case, as they have declared that it was a mistake not to publicly declare anything about this case and let Kamila compete freely in the Olympic Games.

Since this is a case still to be solved, the medals won in the games have not been delivered, Russia came first, the second place is held by the United States, who is the most interested in practically taking away the medal from Russia and Kamila.

Well, this is a case that for the moment seems that it will not end, it is already more than 10 months since the incident and a final decision has not been reached.

For her part Kamila seems to have impunity because she continues competing as if nothing had happened, but only in Russia, you know because of the sanctions 😉.

Kamila Valieva otra vez
