☆ THE BLAME GAME

Can you count the number of times you noticed the rapid increase in prices of food items, house hold items and other basic necessities of man?

In all these times, what was your first reaction?

Who did you blame?

Did you blame the poor tomatoes for being greedy or did you blame the poor Chickens that failed to lay extra eggs after their feed has been halved?

Did you blame the trees for increasing the prices of note books or did you blame the Cassava for not remaining at the same price as it was 10 years ago?

☆ HUMANITY IN THE MARKET

Clearly, we can see that these items or food commodities in the market are not solely responsible for the rocketed growth in cost price. Most of them do not have any say, well, except when the Chickens Collude and conspire not to reproduce anymore, then we can begin to blame them.

But till then, they aren't fully responsible.

Infact, does the Tomatoes tell the seller how much it is worth?

Does the Catfish tell the seller how much it should be sold?

Do the Cows give their sellers a fixed price or how much they are worth?

If your answer is YES, I swear you have a serious problem (Hahahaha)...

Normal human beings, like me, will answer NO to the questions above.

So yes, we (Humans) Fix the prices of these items; we fix them based on the estimation of how much we spent to tender, care for these items or for their production. Then we add our profit over the capital and expenses accrued.

☆ DAILY DOSE OF GREED

While fixing the prices of these items, we always keep up with our prescribed medication from the Greed Doctor.

Yes, we love this medication so much because it puts us in the right mood to fix prices.

Our greed inspires and motivates us to add profit that is triple of the capital we spent. But when buyers ask us (sellers) the reason for the rapid increase in price we blame the Chickens, their feed, the government, economy, currency and everything, BUT OUR GREED.

Why can't we tell the buyer, Hey! I increased this price to this point because of my Greed (hahahaha). Funny, right? But this is the fact most times.

But, make no mistake, the Government policies, currency devaluation and inflation also have a huge role to play here. But, hey! They all have human factors behind them as well. In the same way, they are all faithful to the daily Dose of Greed.

☆ WHO IS TO BE BLAMED: THE MARKET OR HUMANS BEHIND THE MARKET?

So, now answer the question again.

Who is to be blamed? The Market or the Humans behind the Market?

But, wait a minute, WHO IS THE MARKET? Or WHAT CONSTITUTES THE MARKET? AND HOW DO THEY DETERMINE THE PRICES OF THINGS?

To the best of my knowledge, Market is a point, a place or an area where buying and selling takes place.

Who buys? And who sells?

You know the answer, right?
Humans! (for now, till Apes take over)

So, who should we blame?

I bet you know the answer, but if you choose Tortoise, then we may have to take you for medical check up in the Med-Hive Community.

Hahahaha
Are you kidneying me 😅😅
Tortoooo bawo?

It is quite appalling, but then most times we don't have any choice than to get some of these items.

Of recent, many people just focus on getting things that they need, and they leave their wants to the "gods" to provide...lol

Buy and buy for me ooo 😁

This is a funny read, but then all that you have stated is the truth and not fact.
I remember going to get a pair of shoes for a young girl who was to return to school at Ibadan, and I asked at a shop, the man said it was N6,000, I told them I am only going to pay N4,000, they asked for me to pay 5,000, I stocked to my 4k, and they finally agreed. but then moving forward I saw another marketer selling the same pair of shoes for N3,500, which I know if I should price, this marketer will agree for N2,500.

The prices of items in the market are not what they should be. I remember asking a tomato seller, did dollars affect tomatoes, that 6 pcs of Tomatoes are packed for N1,000.

This issue of items price going up is indeed the greed of men and not the government, the economy, or the items themselves.

Thank you so much for sharing @ksam.
